One of the designs leading up to the TBU-1 (V-174).
I found two flavors of V-169. V-169A first

I have a copy of the book American Secret Projects: Fighters, Bombers, and Attack Aircraft 1937-1945 and it is mentioned on page 193 that the V-169 design was offered to the US Navy scout bomber competition of 1938 that led to the Douglas SBD Dauntless and Curtiss SB2C Helldiver. That said, the V-169 itself was somewhat similar to the TBU/TBY Sea Wolf, but was designed as a scout bomber and not a torpedo bomber.

The two V-169 variants had the same wingspan but differed in length, with the V-169A being 38 feet 1.5 in (11.62 meters) long, and the V-169B measuring 38 feet 8.5 in (11.80 meters) in length.
