I'm genuinely disgusted and sick to the core right now. How would these people even dare to face the TEI engineers after this facade? What's more, they completely ruined the image of SAHA 2026 and the actual important stuff from the Expo.

General Manager of MSB R&D - Says even though it looks similar to existing engines (F110 ofcourse), it's compressor stages are very much different - is it feasible that an engine dimensions of F110 to produce +40,000lb of thrust?

There was an F110 proposal with 40000 lbf but it would've used VCE technology.

This one still has the older non-blisk fan with mid-span shroud and she also said they use single crystal material but that alone isn't enough to increase the thrust by 45%.

How much different are the compressor stages?

Yeah, I omitted that part as F110 already uses single crystal blades - lets see what tomorrows press conference will be about, perhaps we'll get some more info on it :)
 
An F110 style engine with 330 lbs per second airflow could easily have 40K lbs thrust. However, the fan diameter will have to be larger than the F110 and likely longer as the blade chord increases in proportion to the increased blade length.
 
Soo, I'm betting on an engine with 20,000 lbf, a length of ca. 4.20m and a service life of around 4,000 hours. Lets wait and see.
RD-33 is a rather thick engine for its thrust class. I would love them to be so far back technology wise. However, I am pretty sure they were aiming for that much power in dry thrust alone. They wanted F110 so it is a good indication they want an F135 class of thrust.

I recommend that you at least read the post chain before replying, and avoid responding to tweets that are a year old next time.

He’s talking about Baykar’s in-house 20k lbf turbofan development plans for the Kizilelma (V)LO UCAV, not about fitting 50-year-old technology onto the Kaan. TEI is responsible for the Kaan's TF35000, and they have objectively world-class resources and capabilities to deliver such an engine.

People should really stop disrespecting TEI and its engineers any further (I'm not speaking to you, Waterballoon, don't take it personally)

I don't know how much they will share in the official article, but these are basically proof-of-concepts to see if they can remanufacture engine parts in case they can't acquire critical spare parts due to a crisis, etc. The engines are assembled at different Main Maintenance Factories. They're not designed to fly with a certain type of aircraft in mind, nor do they intend to.
 
Güchan uses the F110-GE-100 front frame as it has the same amount of IGV (17) as the -100, while the -129 and -132 have 13 IGV.

They did away with the IGV flaps and deicing piping that runs from the 5th HPC stage to the front and they beefed up the entire front frame. This points to changes in the HPC section as well as has been told. Not really an engine for flying but looks more like one for testing at sea level.

It's a Lycoming T53 copy or modification or whatever you want name it. It's a Huey engine so I drew the conclusion they want to keep the Hueys flying as long as possible.

The MOD made some statements about their products. They produced 6 Güchan engines so far.

"Thanks to single-crystal technology, the resistance of engine components to high temperatures and intense operating conditions has been increased, resulting in significant gains in efficiency, performance, and service life.

A total of six engines with a thrust of 42,000 lbf (pounds of force) have been produced to date, and qualification tests for these engines are planned to be carried out this year."

If they produced 6 of them it means they are quite serious about it. They may have used old -100 engines as a basis, redesigned the thing on paper, refurbished parts where necessary, produced new ones where necessary and assembled them together.

@Combat-Master I don't think the -100 uses single crystal material from the beginning, perhaps only after a SLEP upgrade.

Hopefully this is not a “development contract,” as I fear but more of a “delivery contract”; otherwise the engine delivery schedule won’t hold and there will be serious delays in the 2028-32 testing period.

I mean, for an engine that is supposed to begin full assembly and testing in 2028, they have only just recently entered the CDR phase. The TEI CEO (who is a realistic and consistent figure in the industry) says the CDR will take about 1.5 years with preliminary tests running in parallel, but that timeline will still be difficult to meet.

Gökhan Uçar, deputy head of Turkish defense industry agency SSB, said that design of the TF35000 had reached a “significant level of maturity” and a contract for finalizing the design and producing prototypes for testing will be signed shortly.

The very same one. They don't write everything that they say in the briefs; it happens all the time. If you're curious, they held the press brief on the second floor, and it took nearly an hour. Admiral Aktürk openly said the engines are not designed to be used on any type of aircraft, and they don't have plans for serial production. It's not feasible to do it both economically and technically. He literally said "not feasible" btw (fizibil değil). The missile is also not real. It's a proof-of-concept that demonstrates the vision of MoD. I asked about the video as well. He said it was an unfortunate incident (maalesef talihsiz bir durum). And to give an example of what I said about them not writing everything. Sometimes, press members don't ask the questions they expect, so Admiral Aktürk scolds us a little jokingly and answers questions that we forget to ask.

Look, we already derailed this thread to oblivion. After Recep Tayyip Erdogan's behaviour today, we can clearly see what's right and what's not. He didn't visit ARGE Center. He visited Roketsan and signed Tayfun Blok4. He visited TEI and got briefed about TF35000. He didn't mention anything about the other things. I've been at SAHA for four days now, and people were quite furious, especially at SSB. I really believe that there will be consequences to this incident.

Update on ARAT turbojet engine;

The status of the ARAT project is going well right now; altitude tests for our engine are being conducted. We aim to complete the qualification work to a large extent by the end of this year. Next year, we plan to gradually introduce our ARAT engine into serial production.

We have started work on different engines like turbofans. Starting from next year, we will have some nice surprises regarding these new types of engines.

When we look at our current production numbers (for the developed engines), we have already reached very versatile figures as of now. We are also very close to four-digit figures. Starting from next year, we anticipate definitively exceeding this four-digit figure.

That's the most complete rendering of the TF35000 I've seen to date; on discord channel someone fleshed it out a bit for more definition using AI - metal shavings on the TF35000 likely indicating that they have started machining parts of the engine

According to Turkish Defence Analyst Kozan Selçuk Erkan, the TEI-TF6000 has been delivered to BAYKAR and TAI for testing and flight integration (BAYKAR may have received the TEI-TF10000 instead of TEI-TF6000).

I just wrote what he describes himself as and what he said. I posted this because he is one of the most trustworthy "commentators" in Turkiye, like Arda, Kubilay, etc. But you're right, he is probably mistaken.
