I can't see the video, is there somewhere else where it's available? Also, those are R-74M2 in the wing bays, but what about the munitions in the fuselage bay, Kh-58UshK?
i feel like im not supposed to see this for some reason
Something man made shouldn't look and move so elegantly. Truly the most stunning representative of it's kind.Full video here:
Im stealing this
one thing i don´t get it... the windshield does not apper to have coating applied, just the second part of the canopy. I know this is just a prototype, but the production models are the same way. Isn´t it supposed to have all the canopy coated like other fifth gens? Otherwise the radar waves will enter the cockpit and will increase the rcs. Is that correct?
What that what-if for? Meaning? Do you think Sukhoi is tracking your wishes? (No, it doesn't). Next guy will come wishing it would be pink. This is not what-if thread.I wish they would've gone with a different livery though, as it's not a combat duty jet there is an opportunity to go crazy with the liveries.

Certainly not, the acquisition of such a machine is sadly a bit outside of my budget. As such is the customization as well (it would be midnight purple with tan leather seat, ambient lighting, black rims). What that what-if for? Meaning? Do you think Sukhoi is tracking your wishes? (No, it doesn't).
Question is would two such missiles (650 kg per missile) in the rear bays mess with the trim and perhaps cause a lot of trim induced drag?
1300 kg is probaby doable in absolute terms and still have the plane usable. but makes one wonder what is the useful limit for su57, when it comes to total weight carried in the rear weapon bay. Would 2 tons be too much for example?
from the top of my head and I'm absolutely not sure about it but I remember reading mach 1.6 somewhereNow as we could see opened FWC (fuselage weapon compartment) doors and UFWC (underfuselage weapon compartment) doors, one of the crucial questions can be the next one : What is the Mach number and G-load limit for the opening all of them?
Now all we need are artist interpretations of the side mounted weapons bay and its launcher.
Thrust vectoring can/does probably automatically compensate for trim without much drag or propulsive loss.Question is would two such missiles (650 kg per missile) in the rear bays mess with the trim and perhaps cause a lot of trim induced drag?

Just like in the patent
Kh58ushke
Weight 650 kg
4.19 m long
0.4 x 0.4 m wide
149 kg warhead
Speed 4200 kmh
Range 245
JSM
Weight 420 kg
4 m long
0.5 x 0.5 m wide (approx)
120 kg warhead
Speed 950 kmh
Range 550 km (approx)
Aargm ER
Weight 467 kg
4 m long
0.3 m x 0.35 m wide
(Though that doesn't include fins which don't seem to fold??)
Warhead maybe 68 kg
Speed likely 3000 to 4000 kmh
Range likely over 300 km
3 missiles listed are not the same role of course. But aargm can be used against fixed non emitting targets. its not hard to imagine that kh58ushke may get a different seeker, at least a satnav receiver.
It certainly packs a lot of punch and weight in a compact form. sure, it may fall behind other missiles to some degree, but only in some areas.
And su57 may be able to carry 4 internally. Twice as many weapons as f35. Thats not insignificant.
