Sud-Aviation X600 VTOL

I've just an early design with 4 lift engines, the one as shown by Cuny with its very slender
wing and a later version with a double delta wing. But, AFAIK, there should have been more ...

The search tool did not find it for X600.
This comes from "L'industrie aéronautique et spatiale française 1907-1982" (GIFAS publishing, 1984). Volume 3 page 103.
The caption reads : "SA X600 (project of tactical support, 1960)". I think SA means Sud-Aviation (future Aérospatiale then EADS)
Length: 14.6m

This came from a page of French VTOL, showing the X600 was bigger than the Balzac V of 1963 and smaller than the Mirage IIIV of 1963.

That's the crux with too general topics ! It was in the "French VSTOL concepts" thread ... :-\

I spent much of the past two months doing away with those general topics, and renaming the topics whenever necessary. Hopefully the searching should become easier now...

Hello,
I did this drawing of the SAX-600 for Le Fana de l'Aviation (I think that was back in 2010). I had very few information on it, so I had to imagine most of the details (not easy). I provide in attachment a high resolution drawing.
Enjoy, regards
Alain

X-600 and X-601 are discussed in the Flat Riser Vtol chapter of my FSP-1 book. The main outside distinction is that 600 has souris in the intakes which 601 does not have. An important internal distinction is that 601 has Trompes Bertin (injectors) for the lift engines. I note that Alain (Alanqua) has prominent doors for the intakes of the lift engines but neither drawing (X600 or X601) in my possession have them. However I suspect the X600 and X601 drawings maybe refering to windtunnel model, not to full size aircraft. This would lead to smaller details not being shown on these drawings. So if Alain worked from detailed drawings of real aircraft, he may have more info than I do.

Hello,

No, I don't have more info than you. When I had to draw this 3 views plan, I based my work on very few pictures: a basic illustration and simple plans that you can find on this forum. I remember I built the doors by graphic construction (given the size/shape of the front section and the size of the fuselage). My plan reflects more a projection of what could have been this aircraft, if it would have been built and tested.
I'm pretty sure that some original blueprints may exist, but I never had this, neather Le Fana's team. Sorry, I won't repeat my large blueprint upload like on the other post on Mirage Mach 3 4 projects :(

Regards
Alain

le Fana de l'Aviation, No 492, Novembre 2010 has an article on Sud fighter projects, including some info on the X-600. Does anybody have that info? I don't really want to splash out on a copy just for a couple of paragraphs.
[update] Now sorted.
