I'm hard at work on the third issue of the American Aerospace Archive and I'm writing about a study that includes an engine labeled as the PJ-8. It appears to be a turbojet project that was to have produced 20,000 lbs thrust. It powered a Douglas strategic bomber project from 1947 that, intriguingly, is described as having unlimited range. This may imply that the aircraft was to have been refueled in flight or that this was some sort of atomic power plant. I've Googled the PJ-8 and come up dry - anyone know more about it? ???
