Model of OKB-1/Junkers EF-132 from USSR-Russian Aviation & Space Collectibles (Alex Panchenko).

Description:
12 inches wing span hand made model of famous Junkers EF-132 project of Soviet OKB-1 with German engineers-designers. In 1946 the whole Dessau complex and the German engineers were transferred to the Soviet Union to continue the development of both the Ju 287 and EF 132 in organized OKB-1. The Soviets tested the EF 132, using Mikulin jet engines and later evolved the plane by placing two AL-5 engines in nacelles under the wings and giving it a T-tail. Two prototypes were tested as the EF 150, but lost to the Tupolev Tu-16 in the related competition. The EF132 was also a development, which was already started and of which a mock-up was already built at Dessau. In contrast to the original Ju287, the EF132 had a back swept wing. The cockpit section was similar to that of the Ju288. The six jet engines were integrated within the wing structure. This design later became typical for Russian aircraft designs. But the EF132 program was stopped before the construction of a prototype began. The EF132 was the final Junkers-Dessau development.

The description is, at least, curious:

The Soviets tested the EF 132 (?? - rs72), using Mikulin jet engines and later evolved the plane by placing two AL-5 engines in nacelles under the wings and giving it a T-tail. Two prototypes were tested as the EF 150

Actually, EF-132 and the "150" are VERY different aircraft, not only in shape and construction, but even in size! The EF-132 would be almost 1.5x bigger than the "150" was.

Wing span: 34.4 m (EF-132) vs 24.1 m ("150")
Length: 39.4 m (EF-132) vs 26.7 m ('150")
Takeoff weight: 87 500 kg (EF-132) vs 38 000 kg normal, 47 000 kg overloaded ("150")

OKB-2

Yes Triton, very interesting.

Also, in 1946, as members of the Junkers factory of Dessau, german technicians and scientists of the factory Siebel were forced to move from Halle (Germany) to Podberesje (near Moscow). Two years later they created the project named COMBINAT OKB-2. The objective: beating Mach 1; like Yeager in his Bell X-1 on 1947.

This is the result: Junkers EF-131/DFS 346 (*)

Regards
Fran
(*): Is fictional. One B-29 carried the DFS 346.

I am interested in viewing detail of the engines exhaust

They are not the same on the model and the drawing.

I just stumbled upon this thread. I have always been fascinated by a number of Junkers late WWII and "Luft '46" projects. Anyway, it sounds like the description above for the EF 150 is this artist concept of a Soviet EF 132 variant. Holy cow, sorry for the length of the link! Can anyone shorten it for me? anyway, the first time I saw this artist concept was many years ago in the Monogram Pubs. issue on the Junkers 287.

Just use the "Insert image" button above and to the left. looks like a very tiny Mona Lisa.

Thanks! I have always been fascinated with this particular design.

Hi,

the best artwork I have ever seen to Junkers EF-132 B-2.
