Stark and MBDA launch Vanta-12/Sea Venom combination to support NATO deterrence requirements​

On 28 September, Stark revealed the development of its new Vanta-12 uncrewed surface vessel; the USV is set to bring a fit of MBDA’s Sea Venom anti-ship/land-attack guided weapon.

Vanta-12 has a 1,200 n mile range at patrol speeds, with sprint speed in excess of 40 kt. According to the Stark statement, it can remain at sea “for weeks”. In its current configuration, it can operate effectively in Sea State 4 and remain on station in up to Sea State 6.

Using a box launcher fit, four Sea Venoms can be fitted at the USV’s aft end. For’ard on the vessel, a 10-cell launcher carries Stark’s Cascade loitering munition, which can deliver a 5 kg warhead out to 100 km.
