Grumman Model 607

Designed for the Sea Control Ships, proposed in 1971. Powered by a 15,650lb/27500lb PW JTF22A-30B lift/cruise turbofan with a conventional rear nozzle and a swivveling nozzle on each side of the rear fuselage, annd 2 x 11,535lb Grumman GLE-607A liftjets mounted vertically behind the cockpit. Armament was a cannon in the port leading edge, Sidewinders on wingtips and Sparrows under wing.

VTO Weight: 13,936kg
Max Weight: 16,652kg

No designation mentioned in Aviation Week 13/1972, but it's probably the same design [Grumman 607- Admin], which is shown in this artists impression.

Was there ever any suggestion of what sort of radar this design would have used? The nose to me has always seemed short and on the space-limited side........

it seemed to be there is a two variants from Grumman G-607,the second one is
bigger and has a stretch fuselage;
