It looks its going to be available soon by a new aviation publishing company that just started launched. No info on how much it will cost yet. I'm surprised the manuscript didn't get picked up by an established company like Pen and Sword. They are currently publishing a whole series of books on civil aircraft. This book might struggle to sell many copies with such an obscure publisher.
Truth is I didn't shop the manuscript around for one primary reason: I wanted control over the final product. Most publishers want to cap the number of pages, photos, size of the book, etc. And to me, with the book on the 146, I wanted to ensure the story as I researched it was told without compromise, and in a size format that I felt did justice to the subject. La Jetee will publish the book the way I envision it. In fact, I'm in the final stages of trying to polish up the layouts and reduce the page count (was at 580 pages, it's come down quite a bit), but La Jetee put it out there I should publish it without making these changes. While I do appreciate that approach and sentiment, these changes will make the book shine (hopefully) even more.
Therefore, I believe La Jetee is the right publishing partner for this particular book.
If all goes well, the print ready manuscript will be submitted in 2 weeks. Regular editions of the book will be made available from a variety of outlets, while the limited version will be available direct from me (web address soon).
