[Fantasy] Chinese Projects Fan Art

Here is one more, that seem to be J-XX

Yes, but this is one of a series of CG's made by a very talented designer, who draw that as the Chengdu XXJ ... but sadyl it's nothing more than fan-art loosely based on a Chengdu concept !

Here's the best !

But I think - even as I like these "What-ifs" very much - we should stop posting them here and maybe start another tread at "The Bar" about CG's and faked or photoshoped pictures !

Cheers, Deino

Good idea, it reminds me of quite a number of russian cold-war "projects", that
turned out to be just phantasy. And perhaps it's a good place to discuss, what
can be called a "projects" what's a "design concept" and what's just a fancy
illustration made by an talented artist.

I guess an "unbuilt project" for me has to be a real project that existed and was studied by an aircraft manufacturer. However, once you accept a 3 view drawn by Air International you are departing from the truth, albeit minimally, according to the accuracy of the drawing and the talent of the artist. Also, not every "concept" released by a manufacturer is necessarily accurate or even depicting a real project.

Thats why I like everyone to quote sources when posting, as it allows you to follow up where the info came from.

Ok, then let us bring some live into this tread !

Here are some - at least for my opinion - very interesting and mostly very good examples of Chinese Fan Art made by a almost famous artist named LEGO ... he (or she) produced several "projects" during 2002-2004 (I think) ... some of them very realistic, others quite obscure ...

Enjoy them ...

Now some of a rumoured possible stealthy + carrier capable "J-10C" development !

From the same artist who made that XXJ from the first post.

I love Lego's Q-7-01 twin-boomer, that you sub-titled M-55. Do you mean it is inspired by the Myassishchev M-55, despite its canard foreplanes?
Aniway: nice! Thanks for posting it, and for explaining this is more art than an industrial project.

Here is one more looks like one of old J-11 layout, which use rectangle airintaks, whereas old J-11 ues airintake just same as Mirage F.1.

Allegedly this is called the Xue-E or Snow Swan. I feel that the guy who did this probably knew a lot more about aerodynamics than just knowing how to use a 3D CAD program.

More than just a fan, this guy submitted these designs as part of his thesis in a Beijing university concerning the topic of strake generated vortice interaction with canard vortices.

The picture you posted are one of the layout of Chinese next generation fighter

That mini Hornet looks like the Sukhoi trainer project.

 ... funny concept !

The bi-plane is back !
Is this a serious concept or just fan art ? ???

Jemiba, please be serious)

Can't be serious as it's not a copy or clone of an Israeli design ! ;D

Whoever made that plane is apparently a fan of Colani. ;)

Another "design" by the same artist of that mega-transport !!! ... besides that would such a design be possible ?? ???

This would make a great subject for What-Iffing!!!

Sadly not ... it seems to be from a series of comic-strip-like drawings of a possible future chinese aircraft-carrier including a nice 5th generation fighter:

Unmanned helicopter a la "UCAR"
Engine inlet is in the center.
Notice the intermeshing rotor!!!

Outward canted intermeshing rotors ....

ah, Anton Flettner has emigrated to China and he's still busy ! ;D

Yes ... ;D ... but would such a "thing" be realistic esp. in that size (similar to a CH-46 I think ! ???)

The same for this "design-concept" ???

I cannot see a real benefit in such a system. It would still face the limits
of rotorcraft, as the forward rotor probably has to carry loads in forward
flight, with the rear rotorprops tilted forward. Just a kind of "kit bashing" ? ;D
