Hi all,

found this early drawing (Model 210-1) of the Martin "Mauler". (Source: L+K)

That twin engined early design is very interesting, is there any additional data in the source? Are those Allison V-1710 engines? Any date?

Thanks Paul! That would have been the Martin JR2M-1 Mercury, if it had been built. We have a topic about it elsewhere on the forum.

Is there someone who knows if the 'Mercury" had it's own Martin design number ?
Thanks in advance

To the best of my knowledge it carried the same basic model number "210."

Here are the known variants:

210 US Navy XBTM-1 Mauler (3 prototypes)
210A US Navy AM-1 Mauler (131 examples)
210B US Navy AM-1Q Mauler (18 examples)
210C US Navy (X)AM-2 Mauler [one modification]
210 US Navy JR2M-1 Mercury (not built)

We can assume that the Mercury must have been 210* (maybe D?).

Hi,

here is a 3-view to martin M-210-1,or early drawing to Mauler.
