They absolutely don't look like the same! For one, the Himat is a close coupled canard when 2111 is not.

The posted Saab model wing is reminiscent of the Rockwell HIMAT wing planform, which is also like the Saab 2111 wing, which is hardly surprising as Rockwell designed the 2111 wing.

There were quite a lot of leading edge vortex flap schemes explored in US and UK in the 70s/80s, some of which had apex flaps like this.
