Does anybody know anything about a widebody version of the DC-8? I came across a reference to it on Airliners.net recently, but naturally, nobody had included any pictures of anything.

Don't know about a DC 8 widebody airliner, but the D-890 certainly could be regarded as

I worked on an aero study for reengining DC-8 series 60s with two CF6-80C2 engines, sponsored by a freight airline. What killed it were Vmca issues and the FAA Changed Product Rule, which required recertification, as the number of engines had changed.
