Model of Precursor Research and Application Module from General Dynamics, Convair Aerospace Division, from unknown space project. Manned Orbital Laboratory (MOL)?

Don't know for "precursor" but Research and Application Modules (RAMs) was the accronym of Spacelab ancestor in 1970-1972 era. In other words, a can carried in the Shuttle cargo bay.
The flight global archive has some information on this concept. The name "spacelab" came only after 1972 and Europe involvmnet in the project...
 
...Actually, this sort of looks like the guts of that Atlas-based space station, the one that Hawk produced a kit of in the early, early 60's.
