Afternoon all,
I'm currently doing some research and have seen a few documents refer that China, after the end of the Second World War, received a small number of IS-3's from the USSR/Russia. Considering the fact I have never seen an image of this, I assume it was very limited (if at all) for testing purposes and then rejected by the Chinese military like so many other countries did after finding out the vehicles flaws. Whilst I'm aware that the Chinese attempted to develop their own indigenous heavy tank, the WZ-111, and that it does have similarities to the IS-3; It is not a complete clone of said vehicle. Attached is the source I found regarding this, from "Armor, Volume 111, Issue 4, Page 28", but again I'm unsure if this is 100% credible given the time period.
Therefore, I'm asking if anyone else has any information of China operating/owning an IS-3 tank at any point.
Many Thanks in Advance.
