Hi all,
I'm curious about indigenous aircraft designs in Chile.
It seems there was nothing before the war, only some Curtiss assembled locally from US-made parts.

For the postwar period, I've found a very interesting page about locally built trainers, written by Ivan Siminic:
http://ivansiminic.blogspot.fr/2006/11/los-primeros-pasos-del-pilln.html

The aircraft mentioned are:
- Maestranza Central de Aviación "Triciclo Experimental", registered XX-01
- Maestranza Central de Aviación HF XX-02
- Fábrica Nacional de Aeronaves (Fanaero-Chile) Chincol
- the various versions of the Enaer ECH-51 Pillán trainer designed by Piper

In the same website, there is another page about the Enaer ECH-02 Ñamcu and Euro-Enaer EE-10 Eaglet:

Are there more aircraft and projects?
Adrien

My dear Adrien,

I check from may old encyclopedias, but nothing more than this up to this moment.

Hi c460,
I have two pre war aircrafts...
See Prewar aircraft projects.

Have a nice day.

Hi,

the Fabrica Nacional de Aeronaves Fanaero was a two seat jet trainer Project of 1960,
never completed.

Flight, 3 Feb 1949, pg 126

Produced by the Central Workshops of the Chilean Air Force, the Maertranza Central de Aviación, at Santiago, the Triciclo-Experimental two-seat low-wing monoplane is indicative of the interest being taken by the smaller Republics of South America in the possiblities of building aircraft from locally produced materials. The Triciclo-Experimental has been constructed from native woods bonded by casein glue of local manufacture and its engine is the only imported item.

Senor Alfredo D. Ferrer[*] is the designer of this aircraft, which has a fixed tricylce undercarriage, twin fins and rudders, and is powered by a Franklin [O-225-4A4-10] four-cylinder horizontally-opposed air-cooled engine which develops 95 h.p. at 2,450 r.p.m. Complete dual controls are fitted in the side-by-side cabin, and radio equipment of Chilean design is fitted.

* FACh contractor Alfredo Davins is usually credited with designing the Triciclo-Experimental. The 1954 HF XX-02 was designed by Hugo Fuentes. Davins Ferrer designed the later Fanero-Chile Chincol trainer.
