Just out of curiosity, is the J-20 on display one of the recent updated versions or an older airframe that is considered suitable for up close photography ?

From Hurin on X (be warned. He routinely post fake info and fanboi BS so if you do visit, don't get baited into a response).

Note the indented sawtooth edges and soft surfaces to control back scattering

But that image is from @太湖啥个 aka Longshi, who is a respected photographer

There are tons of J-20 pictures from the recent airshow, i'll add this one here because it look real pretty imo.

That wingtip looks weird... Is it just the perspective, or is the leading edge of the tip actuated?

It shouldn't have been flying inverted over the other aircraft in the manner of Top Gun, it was described more as a relatively straight forward barrel roll.

That said I'm not sure why that news is in this thread. The guy is a J-16 pilot, not a J-20 pilot after all.

Decades later, the authorities officially declassified the first flight of the J-20. A netizen once commented on a post, saying that one day the J-20 only taxied on the runway briefly before reaching the hangar. That day was actually January 7th, Beijing time, which was the originally scheduled first flight date. However, due to weather conditions, it was canceled and rescheduled to January 11th. On the morning of that day, there was heavy fog, so the meteorological officer set the time to the afternoon. Thus, on January 11, 2011, at 1:11 PM, the J-20 made its first flight.

What's wrong with their alpha and roll rate? It's probably 50 years we haven't seen such sluggish demo by a jet at an airshow. Heck, even Airbus A350 flying demonstrations are more dynamic.

Now that the greater public have had a closer look at the J-20 are they pushing the J-20 towards the export market or is it going to be a one nation aircraft. Do we know if any other nation pilots have flown the J-20,or would we ?

That's just basically all PLA fighter displays. They don't tend to push their aircraft too hard, whether it's a J-20, J-35A, J-15T, J-10, J-16.

The only exception was the J-10B TVC testbed a few years back, but that's because it was showing some fairly typical low speed maneuvers to show the TVC function specifically.

Doubtful, especially given the existence of the J-35 which may be more suitable for most potential customers.

No, by all we know, the J-20 is not available for export!

The first F-35 demos were fairly pedestrian as well. That, and I think the J-20 is more of a long-range missile carrier. It's able to maneuver but I don't think that's it's primary focus.

I am surprised that they banned the J-20 from export Deino, obviously took the same line as the US took over the F-22 when that got banned from export.

The J35 is available in export versions, but the J20 will absolutely not be exported.
To be honest, i see no reason why not, especially after the 6th gens come online. So after 2030 J-20 should be offered for export imo, i'm sure there will be plenty of interested parties in long range, heavy 5th gen fighters. The only other such offering will be Su-57.

Even after the 6th generation fighters enter service the J-20 will form the backbone of their air force so if China is truly serious about mounting an offensive against Taiwan they won't tip their hand by exporting J-20's.

I don’t think these guys are part of a dedicated demo team; they might also be limited by how many gs and what they are cleared to show.

Given its aerodynamic layout, full teardrop glass cockpit and presense of WVR bays, it's probably very much its one of significant original development goals.

It may have turned out to be less so in actual practice, but those fast bays with neat PL-10 deployment mechanism (arguably more creative and usefully superior to American/Russian ones for WVR performance) aren't free at all. It's an expensive feature, both volumetrically and structirally.
