Bartini Postwar Projects

In Fieger Revue Extra 103,

amazing article about Bartini, many projects, such as strange delta wing and T-118 Bomber, and
they confirm what my dear Ucon said before, the translate,

On the basis of this research, he planned a supersonic
aircraft of the “flying triangle” type under the designation T-203.
Submitted in 1955, it became the supersonic bomber aircraft
Amphibian A-55 with different sweep of the wing leading edge
and four NK-10 engines

An article about how to take from others and pass it off as your own, and there is nothing outstanding in it. By the way, 90% of the photos are from Udalov's book (Ucon).

My dear Ucon,

of course I believe you,but why many Russian sources emphasis on its
existing ?!,such as,

https://testpilot.ru/russia/bartini/bart_list.php

Machine translation

"Dear Hesham, this confusion with the T-203 was made by Gordon, who is well-known to you, in whose books there are always a lot of mistakes.

I spent 30 years of my life studying Bartini's work and the only one who got access to his archives. Probably, if such a T-203 project existed, I would definitely come across it. The list of Bartini projects you have given is very small,

He had about 100+ projects. All of them are carefully scanned in my archive. We planned to release 6 volumes on Bartini's projects and airplanes, but so far only three volumes have been released. Unfortunately, the beginning of the SVO has disrupted some joint plans, but a full review of Bartini's projects will definitely be released.

If someone shows me a REAL document, not a fake on project 203, I will publicly apologise to the whole world.

Good luck and happiness to all!"

Best wishes for you as well, sir!
И вам тоже всего наилучшего, сэр!

"AI" on that site might refer to Альтернативная история or Alternative History. Its definitely a site to be careful citing, as it is explicitly alt history, but I don't see anything indicating this specific image was AI generated. It looks like a painting, probably not original.

Actually, having looked at other recent posts, it does seem like there are AI generated pics being posted without being listed as such.

Please note this detail in the first picture. The AI tried to draw a turret, but it turned out to be something strange. Also note the cockpit. According to the book “Bartini and His Projects, Volume 2,” no other T-200 design features this type of glass, and this book is the most comprehensive source of information on the T-200. Many questions arise regarding the side doors, which appeared out of nowhere and are not shown on any of the T-200 diagrams or drawings.

That's why I conclude that this image, whose only source is the website https://alternathistory.ru, was generated using AI. It was probably created by the author of the website, who didn't think to mark the fact that the image was generated. And that's a big problem.

Yes, I think you are probably correct here.

We need to bear in mind the entire purpose of this site https://alternathistory.ru/ is alternative history, not documenting projects. While there are real projects on there, some of the images posted might be faked / AI / Photoshop.

It was mentioned in the book, Р. Л. БАРТИНИ И ЕГО ПРОЕКТЫ 1946–1952,
but without colors.

I have this book. There is no such image in it.

Unfortunately, in the near future, there will be more and more AI-generated images like this, and now we need to be as careful as possible with new art. Sorry for the off-topic comment.

Respectfully - what made you conclude that? I used machine translation on the page, no clues to AI-generation are apparent. What did I miss?
Clarification; the project is real, i.e. Bartini actually suggested such plane. The image on the top apparently is AI-visualization of Bartini's own sketch.

Apparently the website author used original Bartini sketch -

- to create a colored visualization:

With all respect, but the resulting image is not problematic. It's not photorealistic. It's obvious, that it's merely a color drawing - the one that human artist could also draw, if asked. It's nothing more than bright illustration to the article in question. I rather doubt that anyone could be mislead by something that is obviously a PAINTING, AI or not.

P.S. If it was a photorealistic image - yes, it could represent a problem.

Noted immediately. The colour image though shows details that are simply bogus, the article would be better off without it.

As a piece of AI art goes, it's not actually too bad - but it's art only. It's an impression based on an artist's impression.

I think everyone will have to be careful - even AI image enhancements or AI image resizing can introduce hallucinatory errors and as they become more widely used it's going to become harder to avoid posting inaccurate images.

Apparently the website author used original Bartini sketch to create a colored visualization:
It's pretty well done, but also off in a few places: the topside should be flatter in the middle, the dorsal turret is too big, etc.

Also from this book.
