Dear Boys and Girls, here is an article in French about the Agusta A-110 four-engined compound helicopter "project". Two engines drive wing-mounted tractor propellors and the other two drive the main rotor......

The article comes from the 15th June 1965 issue of Aviation Magazine International......

Some additional information from the vstol.org paper about Italian VTOL designs:
The A-110 was designed for a maximum speed of 500 km/h at a weight of
8000 kg, capable of transporting up to 35 pax.
The outer wing panels were intended to be foldable downwards to act as
stabilizing floats in the event of a water landing. Another, similar project
used a four-bladed rotor and no tail rotor.
Looks a bit like the ancestor of the Eurocopter X3. ;)
