Here there's reference to the Bloodhound MkIV and the MkIII. Latter would be nuclear (if entered service) but seems that it would had improved range. I read somewhere that the ceiling of Mk3 would be 70,000 feet (instead of 60k to 65k). Probably speed would be increased also, any info, please;

RAF did relocate Bloodhound Squadrons, e.g in Akrotiri Base In Cyprus.

There is also an excellent paper by our very own ramjet-powered monoplane engineer BigVern on Bloodhound in the RAF Historical Society Journal* (can't remember which one, but will advise when I get home) from a seminar the RAFHS held on RAF GWs.

Object description​

RAF Bloodhound Mk 2 firing in fine weather, standard launcher (static) camera coverage and one tracking camera. Caption at beginning of film gives details. The missile breaks up early which is captured by the tracking camera. Records show that this was the last ever Bloodhound firing by anyone anywhere.

Watching the film, it seems to have hit something ….that is then tracked as it falls from the sky. I wonder if whoever wrote the description knows the boosters separate after being expended in a quite spectacular manner.

When Bloodhound was disposed of the MOD kept a small number, plus other equipment such as one or two launchers … for future “trials” (purpose unspecified). There have been reports in the early nineties of missile launches from Aberpoth which the locals thought were Bloodhound but this has not been confirmed.

Not that I saw. They were all around $900 + But even at $500, where I have bought a number of books at, I'd want to know before buying that it is worth the price.
