Introduce Yourself

Helloo , everyone iam sarathi from India ,iam currently doing my 2nd year clg degree in aviation field and iam so intrested in aircraft blue prints and structure and designs. I am so glad you to see all of yours introduction ,i just started my first step to my bright future from today I think so. So sorry for my poor English

Hello everyone, we are excited to bring to life old aviation projects and aircraft’s by telling their fascinating story online on YouTube. As we do need to do a ton of research for each project, we joined this forum to connect and discuss possibilities. At the moment we mostly talk about German aviation during World War Two, but it’s not limited to this.
So let’s see what the future will bringt to life :)
And a happy new year to all of us!!

Hi,
I'm Marcin From Belgium, 51 old guy (just saw i put the wrong year in my profile, fat fingers ), Wife, 2 Kids and a cat.
Bathed in WW2 aviation since a kid, very much intrigued by the Luft46 projects, let it be German or Allied and Very much interested in the 41- mid43 channel operations,so much actually i'm prototyping a book about the daily RAF and LW operations in details...will be finished when the kids leave me enough time to end agragating everything. I'm also the guy behind the back up of wwiiaircraftperformance.org under the "very researched" name wwiiaircraftperformance.com.

Hello everyone,
My name's Jan and I'm a 21 year old student from Poland currently on the 3rd semester of National Security. My main areas of interest are navies since the dawn of the age of steam up to modern times, especially cold war submarines and everything related. Hobbies include model-making, photography/shipspotting, naval games and worldbuilding with related amateur art & design work (ships, armour, aircraft, etc.). I'm not sure whether I'll be able to contribute much new information as I'm not that well-read yet, but I'm looking forward to learning from more experienced members :).

Hi I am Gerard from Doetinchem the Netherlands. I am 57, a Mechanical Engineer with my own company in machine building and production of composite parts for all kind of industry but also aviation and aerospace. I am maried and have three sons. Almost all my life I am a free flight modeller.

About a decade ago I got interested in collecting aviation literature and photos, specially the era between the great wars.
As a hobby I started making drawings and colored 3-views from that period , I wrote and published some articles on typical airplanes. Doing this I realised it is some sort of addiction to search for more interesting objects.
In that search on the Internet I found this forum.
Not sure if I can be of great contribution but future will tell.
Regards Gerard

Thank you, Admin, for letting me in. I’m Farhan J. Satti from Pakistan—a defense analyst and HR leader. I combine strategic defense insight with over a decade of HR experience. I understand military operations, arms control, and global security frameworks in depth. For 15 years, I’ve written about weapons, analyzed capabilities, and advised on related issues.
I hold UN Disarmament Affairs certifications covering WMD missiles and lethal autonomous weapons. I’m also trained in firearms safety in Washington State, USA, and I list CCW certification through UN Disarmament Affairs in Vienna. I run a defense news website as well called the Defense News Today.

Greetings, comrades. I am T-80U_Valodyana from China-Mainland, specializing in ground armored combat vehicles. At the same time, I am very interested in various air defense systems from the Cold War era and second-generation fighter jets—especially the MiG-23 series.

I came to this site mainly to collect information on various fighter jets and publish some insignificant research [rough ruler engineering]. I am learning some elementary radar technology.

In my country, I am dedicated to popular science on armored vehicle technology and elementary radar technology. I am running a two-person military research/popular science society НИИ «Автомех».

My English is poor, and I use various LLMs/GPTs for translation, so there may be errors.

Wish you good health!

Respectfully,

Salutations!

Hi All!

My name is Mike & I'm from GB, WI, USA. I used to build models (mainly WWII aircraft, but also jets & ships) when I was young & was a fan of early Tom Clancy & Craig Thomas's Firefox books. The Hunt for Red October was a big reason I chose the US Navy coming out of high school & Sonar Tech specifically. I was on the Josephus Daniels (CG-27), a Belknap class cruiser - we did a six month deployment to/around South America called UNITAS & made port visits in Puerto Rico, Panama (went through the canal), Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile (& it's fjords + Strait of Magellan), Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Curacao, Trindad & Tobago etc.

If you ever venture here for a Packer game & are looking for local restaurants, sites etc. - hit me up.

Hi all,

I am born 1962, so now 63 years young. I am from Germany. Early in my childhood I started modelling scale kits. There were phases with aircraft, with ships and with military vehicles. Main focus were always aircraft. It was always important for me to learn about the historic background. And I was always fascinated about rare types. Of course I also built Spits, Mustangs, Bf109s, but the rareely known projects were my biggest interest.
My website: www.aviation-history.eu

Hello all - been “stealthily” browsing these forums for months/years now. Thought I’d finally sign up.
I’m a Mechanical Engineer located in the USA and I have previously worked for major aerospace defense prime A and currently working at major aerospace defense prime B.

Out of curiosity - are people actually adding their classifications under the profile picture? Or is that a forum thing that I don’t get?

hi everyone

I have been here before, but lost my computer and with it all of my passwords and accounts. I am from South West London and used to teach History before ill-health got in the way. So historical research is a big part of my life. I've been an aircraft model maker since childhood, and concentrated on Luftwaffe aircraft (i just liked the designs).

In my historical research and model making i usually look at unusual topics. So aircraft projects which didn't enter production are my favourites. I have also developed a fascination for Czech aircraft.

Hello everyone.
I’m from mainland China, and I’ve been drawn to images of vintage aircraft from the last century—along with anything else that carries that same sense of wonder.
It was while searching online that I came across this forum.
My English isn’t strong, so I’ve used AI to help with the translation. Hope it doesn’t come across as impolite.

Hi all - my name is Dan and I’m from Australia, currently based in Canberra. In my 50’s now and have been a lifelong Aviation enthusiast and scale modeller - the weirder and more esoteric the better. I came across this forum while doing some research around the SNCASO Dever, in preparation for getting started on the 1/72 MikoMir kit. Thanks for the add, and look forward to some interesting discussions.

Hello! I'm a mechanical engineer interested in automotive, aerospace and engineering broadly. I live in the UK and love visiting museums. As a child I loved drawing rockets and aircraft, so seeing the exotic content and whacky planes on this forum is particularly interesting to me. I'm curious about anything from piston aircraft, early jets and rockets right up to modern systems.

Hello I am an Electrician but currently attending IT training.
my primary interests are Firearms, Artillery, Piston engine Fighters, Uboats . I am also interested in Pre-WW2, WW2 and Cold War soviet Firearms, Artillery ( Towed/ Self propelled, as well as Missiles) Tanks and ESPECIALLY the Ob'yekts. i wish to one day create a whole index of the variouns Ob'yekts and Gunnery (ex: 2A64) and GAU/ GRAU index of firearms

i am especially interesting in the prototypes and lost competitors to the winning designs (i.e: the Grabin designed New Triplex (NII-58 Triplex) of 180mm S-23 , 210mm S-23-I (S-33), 280mm S-23-II ( S-43), 203mm S-23-IV ( S-53?) case in point
"WHAT WAS THE S-23-III?" there is the S-23, S-23-I, S-23-II and S-23-IV but the S-23-III is missing.

P.S; NOT ASKING HERE. ITS JUST AN EXAMPLE

Hello,

Hello everyone!
I'm a 26-year old university student majoring in military history, about to go into graduate studies. Military history has always been a fascination of mine, particularly with a focus on tanks and armored fighting vehicles. Planes and ships are also cool though, and I like to study anything obscure and lesser-known. A lot of the research I do is prompted by the game War Thunder, as I enjoy researching new vehicles to propose on their forums for addition to the game. I've done this around 50 times so far, and I'm hoping that I can use this as a place to find new info, meet people, and have some fun!

Heya.
I'm 21, a university student, and I'm majoring in computer science. Military history, namely aircraft history, is my passion. Like a few other people on these forums, I got my interest piqued by War Thunder, but I have always had a fascination with aircraft in general, ever since I was a small child, and the Blue Angels performed an air show in my hometown, using legacy F/A-18s. I might not have much to add to these forums, but I will definitely help in any way I can, whether financially, or spreading the word about this forum.

Hi Everyone
I live down in Canberra Australia, and have always had a keen interest in aircraft, both existing and the "what might have been" versions. As I'm getting close to retirement I'm planning to get back into building scale models, flying and otherwise. I have a copy of Joe Bella's boom of the history of CAC and there are so many cool aircraft to build.

Hi folks,

58 Y.O, Licensed AME, former C.I with the RCAF spent 15 years overseas and later was with Air Canada tech-ops management. Have the aviation bug since I was 4 years old and it is incurable. Scale modeler, build and repair full size aircraft and also design / build RC planes etc etc etc.. Live in Alberta Canada where the weather is still -10 degrees C and snowy!

Keep the pointy end up and fwd!

TM

Hello everyone, I'm Moses
I've been lurking on Secret Projects for a while now — primarily using the forum as a research resource for cancelled and experimental programs. The depth of documented knowledge here is genuinely extraordinary and has directly informed a lot of my research.
A bit about me — I run a small YouTube channel called Innotrepid focused on classified, cancelled and forgotten military programs told in short format. The XB-70 Valkyrie, CL-400 Project Suntan, and various Cold War programs have been recent subjects. The Suntan content in particular sent me deep into this forum's archives.
My interest sits primarily in
  • Post-1945 cancelled aircraft programs
  • Cold War experimental technology
  • The engineering decisions behind why programs succeeded or failed
I'm here primarily to learn from people who know these programs far better than I do. If my research ever adds anything useful to existing discussions I'll contribute where I can — but mostly I'm here to absorb what this community knows.
Looking forward to being a genuine part of the conversation.

Moses — Innotrepid

Hi.Looks like you are just starting out. Just a quick suggestion - if you rely on materials found here to make Youtube videos, you really ought to credit the forum and the posters.

That's completely fair and I appreciate you saying it directly.
Going forward I'll credit the forum and specific posters by username whenever forum research informs my content — both in the video description and as an on-screen acknowledgment where appropriate.
For any previous content where Secret Projects research contributed — I'll go back and update those descriptions to include proper attribution.
This forum clearly has decades of documented knowledge that deserves proper recognition. I should have done this from the start and I won't overlook it again.
Thank you for the guidance.

Hi, I'm using the Gryphus 1 moniker, due to my love for Ace Combat X.

Through that game series and Heroes of the Pacific, I grew to love aircraft, and I'm always looking out for weird concept stuff, and by God this place is a treasure trove for that, I have been lurking for quiet time now.

I think my favorite era of weird concepts or even overall designs is like 60s to 80s, because it gave us stuff like the Warthog, the Eagles, the Tomcat, most of the Sukhois too.

Hi everyone,
I’m Roshan, currently working at the intersection of robotics and vehicle design. My background spans mechanical engineering and data science, and I’ve always been drawn to unconventional vehicles that push the boundaries of conventional design.

One such fascination that’s stayed with me over the years is the world of ekranoplans. There’s something incredibly captivating about how these craft operate in the ground effect zone—balancing between air and sea, combining the best of both domains. Whether it’s the massive Soviet-era Lun-class or modern concepts for cargo transport, I’m constantly amazed by their potential and the engineering that goes into them.

I joined this forum to learn more from those who have researched, designed, or just deeply appreciated WIG craft and similar experimental platforms. I’m here to absorb as much knowledge as I can, exchange ideas, and maybe even contribute with some of my own technical explorations.
Looking forward to diving into discussions and learning from all of you!
I made a mechanically self stabilizing WIG craft layout and tested it in a wind tunnel made of RC plane propellers for the flow.

Hey, Hans early 60’s and living close to the town of Zutphen at the river banks of the IJssel. Industrial designer and mechanical engineer, later on in life graphic designer and visual communication senior. Lifelong modeller, both static and freeflight and rc flight. Experimented with electric propulsion and edf’s ever since the mid 80’s.

Hey all, my names Darrin, 25 year veteran of the RCAF, started as an Instrument/Electrical Tech, finished as an Avionics Tech after injuries bounced me out on a Medical Discharge. Worked on Helos (several), Jets, and Transports during my career in the AirForce, in the field, and on the ships. It was fun but I'm too broken to work now.

Thats all.

hello, I'm Kaihaos. and I'm 19 year old student from Japan IT School.
Watching the movie Top Gun when I was a child sparked my interest in fighter jets, which I then explored further through the OVA Yukikaze, Ace Combat, and War Thunder.

Hi all,

I’m Nooh, 24, currently based in the UK and doing a PhD in aircraft design. My background is in mechanical and aerospace engineering, with a focus on conceptual design and early-stage aircraft development.

I’ve always been drawn to the “what might have been” side of things, Cold War studies, unrealised concepts, and the reasoning behind them as much as the designs themselves.

I’ve been reading through the forum for a while, in fact I joined back in 2024, and there’s a serious depth of knowledge here, so I’m mainly here to learn, but happy to contribute where I can.

I also write occasionally on Substack if anyone’s interested: https://ahamadnooh.substack.com

Hello everyone,

I am a new memeber from South Korea. I've always been fascinated by military aviation and aerospace technology. I've been following the discussions on 6th-generation fighter programs like the NGAD with great interest.

This forum is an incredible resource, and I'm looking forward to learning more about unbuilt projects and future flight concepts from all the experts here.

Thank you for having me!

Hello all! thank you for allowing my membership. I'm a model engineer/retired US Navy engineer, and truth be told, I started in models when I was just a kid of maybe 5 or 6 with machining small steam engines or scratch building boats/airplanes with my father and younger brother. I've recently become interested in radio-controlled submarines, but I have interest in anything to be learned with likeminded individuals. I found the forum while searching for information on a recent acquisition of a USS Blueback rc submarine I'm currently restoring. Thank you very much for having me!
