Sukhoi Su-57 flight testing and development

Perhaps it's in the Sukhoi anniversary book? I'm unsure if there is a forum member who owns a copy though, given they were only given to employees IIRC.

It would be very much appricated, if someone could check!

Btw, Piotr Butowski also uses the same numbers in his book, but it is marked "estimated".

The Sukhoi book doesn't include any details of dimensions or weights.

Piotr Butowski gives these estimates:

Wingspan 14.1m (46ft 3in)
Length 20.1m (66ft)
Height 4.6m (15ft 1in)
Empty weight 18,000kg (39,683lb)
Nominal take-off weight 25,000kg (55,116lb)
Maximum take-off weight 35,000kg (77,162lb)
Maximum speed Mach 2.0
Supersonic cruising speed Mach 1.3
Maximum supersonic range 810 nautical miles (1,500km)
Maximum range 1,890 nautical miles (3,500km)

Neither UAC or ROE have published dimensions ever. You may want though to check dimensions with Zvezda 1/72 and 1/48 kits licensed by Sukhoi.

I overlaid this well known photo with the drawing from Wikipedia – a pretty good match. The ratio of wingspan to fuselage length is roughly 1/1.4

Accordingly, it's either
A) 20.1 / 14.36 m,
or
B) 19.74 / 14.1 m,
or something in between :p

The Zvezda 1/72 model has a length of 27.9mm and a 19.5 mm wingspan, giving it a length of 20.08m and a 14.04m wingspan. Consider the Zvezda model might be a bit off; I remember in early 2000, no kit company had gotten the flanker dimensions and shape right. In comparison with a Su-30 kit, the Su-57 is a bit shorter due to the stinger not being as long as the Flanker, and the wingspan is the same if you remove the missile rails on the wingtips; the height is significantly less than the Flanker. The Su-57 engine gondolas have a bigger radius.

The first-stage T-50 design had a wingspan of 13.95 m and length of 19.7 m. The structurally revised second-stage T-50 airframes that became the production Su-57s have revised wingtips outboard of the LEF and tail "stinger" that increased the wingspan to 14.1 m and length to 20.1 m, hence the figures in Piotr Butowski's book. @flanker had even posted an official technical drawing with measurements of the second-stage airframe here. When measuring, make sure you use the span-wise ordinate lines, as the drawings are a bit stretched length-wise.

Note that the revised wingtips outboard of the LEF actually has slightly reduced sweep from the rest of the wing, subtle and the difference only apparent when looking down the edge.

Could you tell me where I can find the book or send me a PDF copy?

at Page 84 of piotrs su57 book in 2021, in the last paragraph, there is a mention for a towed decoy system for Su-57, are there any updates for it?

I'm not aware of such a system being present on the current production model. It may (or may not) be implemented on the Su-57M. Although it may make more sense to outsource such a duty to the S-70 UCAV.

its kinda for survivability, last moment evasive options against missile, F-35 has it too, yeah the current Su-57 doesnt seem to have it, but who knows if there could be one planned for Su-57M, thats why i thought it was a good idea to ask if anyone has updates on transmitter like this.

It would be strange if at least the Su-57M version did not feature an integrated towed decoy system, given that it is patented for an external pod.

I kinda question the viability of the whole external pod thing to begin with tbh. Seems like something more suited for the Su-35 tbh, which would benefit from this more.

Naturally, it is not intended for the T-50 platform, but probably the T-10. For the Su-57, it would not have the slightest significance. But it is a technology that the RF is starting to assert itself.

I suspect it's something you preferably design together with your defensive suit.
Otherwise, indians (in their endless love of Israeli mic) requested integration of x-guard into Rafale. 5 years after deliveries started, during Sindoor, it still wasn't available.
While French are stingy, it's probably too much for intentional malice/sabotage.

I.e. i would personally expect active decoys on su-57(and j-20), rather than towed decoy.

So for Russian AF one Su-57 costs 110,5M USD One Su-35 costs 28.8M EUR or 33.8M USD.
So Su-57 is 3.5 times more expensive than Su-35S.
EDIT: It's not a price of airframe, just KRET part of electronics. So airframe, KRET stuff, engines and other things may cost 1.5 times of that or more.

you know you're going to be asked for links to provide proof of that.

Algeria getting 12 Su-57s? That is news to me JetBrain. As well as that add on 14 Su-34s.

Look at picture above with table. Su-57 row, column #5 is amount, #6 is price of avionics from KRET for Russian GOZ (military procurement) for this amount, Column #11 denotes that this price is advanced payment. Column #7 is a price for foreign customer, and #8 is a ratio between export price and Russian one.
Thus with simple math, 198.95/12*100/15 will get you 110.5M USD price of avionics for a single Su-57 airframe. Full packaged airframe is likely at least 1.5 times more (engines, airframe itself, other things not sourced by KRET).

are we talking domestic or export? Exports get sold higher than Domestic like a deal India made with France suggested they paid over 100 million dollars per Rafale.
