Could you dream of a better kill-zone for tanks than this terrain that the Cambodian Army is currently apparently trying to deploy tanks into?

Apparently, Cambodia is considering an armored push into Thailand at "Ta Thav".
This is my first look ever at this Border, but wow, it has a beautiful ridgeline seperating the two countries.

Now, some Genius Generals in Cambodia seem to come up with the idea to push Tanks and IFV up a mountain pass (blue), where they will be slow and on very predictable routes, fantastic for Artillery, MLRS, JDAM.
If that for whatever reason "works out", they would have to push through a 500m wide opening while being in a killzone.

It's interesting to see how a Thai F-16 got shot down, Cambodia's only AA is far away from the front and realistically it can't counter the F-16s, leaving basically free ground for strike and bombing operations.

Cambodian forces are setting the forest on fire to disperse and keep away Thai forces and slowing down the thai armoured vehicles

Sigh) If I'm not mistaken, Thailand also has a lot of Chinese-made equipment.

True, but it's definitely less towards China, while Cambodia has deep roots with countries of the ex-communist block

I'd be careful to equate small arms sales to close ties. Not everyone running around with AKs or M4s is tied to Russia or the US now, are they?
Large amount of artillery and heavier equipment are largely Chinese or Chinese copies of Soviet equipment

As of 17:00, (it is now 21:11 and no updates) , according to frontline reports, intense fighting and artillery exchanges are ongoing at:

Ta Moan Thom Temple

Ta Kra Bei Temple

Thma Daun (Oddar Meanchey Province)

And in the Preah Vihear direction: Mein Tathav, Bosbov, Choam Te, Phnom Khak, An Ses, and Mom Bei.

From Ta Moan Thom in the west to Mom Bei near Preah Vihear in the east spans nearly 150–180 km along the border.

Battles between T-55 and Type-59 Tanks with the Royal Cambodian Army and T-84 and M60 Tanks of the Royal Thai Army are reported to be taking place on the border between the two countries near Ta Thav.

And it will be very interesting, this is Southeast Asia after all, having a modern and heavy tank doesn't mean that you have the upper hand due to the nature of the territory. (Hence why most of SEA armies have older tanks or modern light tanks)
