Thai F-16 confirmed shot down by credible SEA sources.

The Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has refuted Cambodian media reports claiming that an F-16 aircraft had been shot down on Thursday.

It confirmed that the aircraft returned safely after conducting a bombing mission on a Cambodian brigade.

Thailand has already sent multiple F-16s in bombing operation over Cambodia.

Weird...

Could you dream of a better kill-zone for tanks than this terrain that the Cambodian Army is currently apparently trying to deploy tanks into?

Cambodian forces have deployed tanks near Satta Som Mountain in Ban Phumsarol, Sao Thong Chai Subdistrict, Kantharalak District, Si Sa Ket Province.

According to the Second Army Region, Thai forces have successfully neutralized at least two enemy armored vehicles in the area.

In response, Thai troops have initiated drone-based airstrikes, deploying UAVs to carry out precision bomb drops on hostile positions.

It looks like Hun Sen, the President of Cambodia, posted these photos, including operational maps, to his Facebook page and then almost immediately deleted the picture with the maps (I can only find reposts). 20250724_174346.jpg 20250724_174347.jpg

Yet forests and roads of Indochina are a site of one of the most ridiculously one-sided tank blitzkriegs in history...

On Wednesday, Thailand withdrew its ambassador to Cambodia and expelled the Cambodian ambassador to protest against the landmine blast that wounded its soldiers, the Associated Press (AP) reports.

Thai authorities alleged the mines were newly laid along paths that both sides had agreed were supposed to be safe. They said the mines were Russian-made and not of a type employed by Thailand’s military.

Cambodia rejected Thailand’s account as “baseless accusations,” saying that that many unexploded mines and other ordnance are a legacy of 20th-century wars and unrest.

Where does China stand in all of this? Being the regional power I think it's interesting to consider their position on this.
A lot of Cambodia military equipment is Soviet and Chinese.

Thailand is despite a lot of Chinese influence more towards the US, for example it has US bases..

I'll also wait for the reaction by ASEAN powers.
Probably it will preach for peace and diplomacy...
