There’s biblical quantities of disinformation coming from both sides currently.

I’ve seen that same engine debris labeled by the Indian side as clear evidence of a JF-17 shootdown as well.

I’d take anything with massive quantities of grains of salt for the time being.

Pakistani sources claim to have shot down three Indian fighter jets (including a Su-30), while Indian sources claim to have shot down one Pakistani fighter jet.

These are all claims, and no footage confirms the shotdowns.

A Pakistani contact mentioned JF-17 are somewhat out of the way and J-10. I don’t know the Indian order of battle. Flankerman sent me this render of a MICA pylon to compare

Looks nothing like SU-30 tails but I’m sure Pakistan will officially still make the claim. Could be landing gear from a drone. Both sides lie profusely about losses every time there are skirmishes, it’s to the point that it’s comical, it’s always eye witness, some grainy videos of puffs of smoke or clouds, or some other BS.

So far it looks like there is some wreckage of a Mirage with Mica missiles? And some unknown wreckage that both sides claim to have shot down. Pakistan says it’s a Mirage, India says it’s a JF-17, it’s hard to tell what it is and based on wreckage it can be either, lots of evidence points to it being a JF-17 but then lots of evidence goes the other way.

One thing is for sure, Indian leadership is incompetent and predictable. Every time there are hostilities they launch air strikes at the most predictable times often using short range munitions over hostile territory or close to the LOC. It’s like the Indians never heard of long range munitions, drones, the elements of surprise or proper reconnaissance in order to locate and destroy or avoid air defenses. Give them a 6th gen aircraft and they would find ways to screw something up. I guess they watch too many Top Gun movies, not every situation needs aircraft especially when the other side has hundreds of aircraft and thousands of MANPADs, SAMS and radars…drones would have done a better job and spared the embarrassment.

India strikes Pakistan, Pakistan-administered Kashmir

  • India’s army has launched “Operation Sindoor”, hitting nine sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
  • Pakistan says India’s missile attacks on six locations killed at least eight people and wounded more than 35, promising a robust response to the “act of war” from its neighbour.

"Pakistan said Indian missiles hit three sites and a military spokesperson told Reuters five Indian aircraft had been shot down, a claim not confirmed by India.
However, four local government sources in Indian Kashmir told Reuters that three fighter jets had crashed in separate areas of the Himalayan region during the night."

"Images circulating on local media showed a large, damaged cylindrical chunk of silver-coloured metal lying in a field at one of the crash sites."

Metal debris lies on the ground in Wuyan

Looks like a missile to me. (Edit: I’m so fucking dumb it’s a drop tank my bad)

IAF Rafale Jets Deploy SCALP and HAMMER Missiles for Operation Sindoor

According to reports, the Indian Air Force (IAF) employed its Rafale fighter aircraft to carry out the mission, using SCALP and HAMMER missiles to neutralize the intended targets.

The SCALP missile enables the IAF to strike deep within enemy territory with stealth and accuracy, making it suitable for long-range, strategic operations. In contrast, the HAMMER provides medium-range, precision-strike capabilities against a broader range of targets, including fortified structures and potentially moving objects.

Following the operation, India made it clear that the action was directed exclusively at terror hideouts and no Pakistani military installations were targeted.

“Our actions have been focused, measured and non-escalatory in nature. No Pakistani military facilities have been targeted. India has demonstrated considerable restraint in the selection of targets and method of execution,”

Indian source.

If I may quote my post from the Rafale thread, this seems to be the remnants of a m88 engine, which could further point towards the Rafale claim.

Can anyone more versed with French aviation help me out here? I think this is part of the back section of the M88 Engine, does that seem like correct speculation?

Regarding weapons used:

As part of Operation Sindoor, the Indian Armed Forces launched joint airstrikes inside Pakistani territory, targeting nine terror camps using Rafale jets armed with SCALP cruise missiles and HAMMER precision-guided munitions, as per sources.

(notice that the recce is from a fighter jet operating at range and alt inside Pakistani radar volume coverage that at one point releases shaff and take a slight evasive action - could be Rafale Talios)

One high altitude drone seems also to have released light guided ordonance.

The drop tanks are allegedly from a Mirage 2000.

Pakistani claims:
-A spokesman for Pakistani military press department ISPR told Reuters: "So far, I can confirm that five Indian aircraft, including three Rafale, one Su-30, one MiG-29 have been shot. And one drone also shot down."-

Pakistan also claimed to have shot down an SU-30MKI in 2019 never mind there was zero evidence of wreckage or pilots or any proof

I'm almost sure this is part of an M88 the riveting on the feathers are of the same color, all the fuel lines match, and so do the hinges and rings.

It definitely looks like it’s from a Rafale. This further reinstates my suspicion that Indian military planers have the IQ of a door knob. This aircraft has the abilities to strike targets from hundreds of KMs away, their jammers and RCS is also reportedly impressive so how does this happen? Either Pakistan has world class aircraft and SAMs or Indians are using Rafales as dive bombers

China is likely to give Pakistan a lot of logistical support, at the very least.
