Sukhoi Su-57 flight testing and development

The information from Rostec is quite unclear. Literally it states: "... an absolutely new engine of the fifth generation for the most modern aircraft of the operational-tactical aviation". So it could be AL-51 as well as "Udlinitel" (see above).
 
So AL-31F(P) whatever exact versions as the life time has changed, according to sources that I have seen over the past 30 years;
AL-31F Prototype : 100 h
AL-31F1 : 300 h
AL-31F3: 900 h
AL-31FP : 1000 h
AL-31FM1: 1500 h
AL-41F1(S): 4000 h

Ofcourse newer production models of the AL-31F(P) likely incorporate improvements that may explain the increase ti 2000 h. In any case it's not the AL-41F1(S) that's taken as a benchmark here. Could somebody translate the text on the board/brochure into English?
 
So why there is j-20 on the banner? Are they suggesting the j-20 uses it or; they want the Chinese to buy it? What engine is this?

From what I understand 177S is the engine we spoke about earlier - a 117(S) gas gen + new fan part based on izd.30 tech. with 14.5-16t thrust rating. Wonder what's name will it get. My guess is AL-41-F1SM or F1S1.
Why J-20? Dunno, maybe as fallback or for export.

The first ~50 or so of them are al-31fn users, and it gives them a very attractive update path to semi-A standard when their current engine stock dies.
Those, as well as all the other pre-WS-10 jets are a big market.

Seems that nobody notices that they state 7800 meters, not kilometers. The figure is meaningless though without complementary information about how much fuel is assumed to be taking during each refuelling. The MTOW figure is not particularly impressive and makes you wonder what the empty weight and internal fuel load of the aircraft. Whether past estimates are reliable (10.3t of fuel for example) is yet another question. IIRC an empty weight of 18.5t has been stated, but with no credible source backing it. IIRC there was a 37-38t figure on an info board at an earlier MAKS exhibition, not sure though. Will probably take a few more years before we will get some more accurate figures. Interestingly earlier figures for the AL-41F1 engine seem also slightly exaggerated, current figures imply same performance as for the S version.

No, it's correct. 117S and 117 have their 14.5 and 15t thrust on emergency mode, and 14 and 14.5 respectively on full AFB mode.

I mean to remember that a 3500 km, or was 3000-3500 km figure was cited a few years ago. The truth lies probably in the middle (of 3000-4000 km). I'm inclined to believe that the official range figures for the Su-35S are an understatement as I would expect that a >20% higher internal fuel load of the Su-35S, compared to the Su-27S should translate into a better performance, given the equivalent size and aerodynamics of both airframes. Ofcourse the Su-35S is somewhat heavier and more powerful engine consume more fuel at equivalent SFC. However the Su-35S may achieve the same cruise speed as the Su-27S at a lower RPM setting and with >20% more fuel and same size and aerodynamics the performance should be better. Add TVC utilisation and higher instability for reduced trim drag and maybe a somewhat reduced SFC due to technical advancements and it's hard to believe that the Su-35S does no better than the Su-27S. From what we know or assume the Su-57's engines should be about as fuel efficient and apparently somewhat more powerful compared to the Su-35S'. The later seems to pack a bit more fuel internally and clean I'd expect the Su-35S to potentially somewhat less draggy. With a combat load odds will reverse ofcourse.
