Another nostalgia splurge in these dark days.
Growing up in the 1960s airliners were high on my list of likes.
One of my early treasured possessions was the Esso Guide to London Airport. There were three published in order below. It contained line drawings of airliners in the colourful liveries of the period.
The airline that features on one of covers and in any number of movies and TV shows was Pan American. With the double globe of TWA and the futuristic buildings at New York JFK and Los Angeles, Pan Am's 707s embodied the soaring 60s.
As I mentioned elsewhere British Airways resurrected earlier liveries including the wonderful BOAC one which usually featured alongside the US ones

excellent topic.
Indeed the old BOAC you posted is beautiful.
One I miss a lot is UTA :

These green doors is genius.

Never been a fan of the Air France code bar. And Concorde was so nice in the old livery :

And would have been so nice in BOAC :

Edit: and the old Cathay... Mmmhh

As I said, I loved airliners in the 60s
Lufthansa was lucky in that West Germany made great toys in its smart colours.
Schuco made clockwork toys of the 737 and 747. An earlier toy was this Tipp of a Boeing in the early 60s scheme

Apart from the old liveries from the UK, PanAm definitely. My memory must be playing tricks on me but the Lockerbie disaster was pin pointed as the major disaster but what has come out since is a tale of major management failures. What could have been covers so much.

For me, basically all the old British Airways liveries (apart from most of the "Utopia" designs).

Find them here at:

The QANTAS livery I grew up with, e.g. the one with the wings on the Kangaroo... That and the old 'V-Jet' color scheme which can be seen part way (01:22) through this classic 1970s music clip...

I'm pretty sure the footage was shot just after Tullamarine Airport Opened...

You might like the two pics below.
The first is a little model of the Boeing 733 SST of 1965, the livery is taken from a little drawing in a Qantas brochure I used to have. The model is 9 in long made in the Philippines.
The second is a picture of the 2707-300 cancelled in 1971. The paintings for some airlines sent them by Boeing have only emerged for a few airlines.

Nice pictures, I remember seeing a picture of a 747 model, probably from the time QANTAS was looking at buying them where the plane is painted in the 'V-Jet' color scheme they used on the 707s, but I've never been able to find it.

BOAC - awesome aircraft, one of the most beautiful aircraft I've seen. I wonder how many airline operator they have in those times of history and how they were finding air flight tickets. For example, services like this one ( https://airbusinessclass.com/popular-destinations/oceania ). They didn't have internet for that purposes, so I think it was pretty long, and pretty expensive to get a simple flight ticket...

TWA, Pan Am, and United. The United 747 livery holds a special place for me because it was the first time I flew overseas, and on the 747 (back in the 1970s).

The "battleship gray" Boeing 747-400. This has a special place in my heart because I emigrated to the US in one of them.
