I would think an a/c on final would be at a relatively high thrust setting to offset the drag from slow speed control surface settings, its high AoA approach and and have the engine speed such that getting to thrust levels for a bolter are more rapidly attainable.

Yes, carrier approach and landing, high-drag, high-power setting.

If you have watched the video you'd notice that Shockwave here are graphics only. This is not a supersonic scale model seen in a in a high speed wind tunnel.

So does the inlets put to bed the debate if this thing has anti gravitational space warp or was it just the voices in my head?

Hi,
The model I donated to the AFRL is based on my FA-XX, which has canards. I first delivered the FA-XX and then made a version without canards and in USAF colors, which was the one ultimately used in the 2018 video.
It could also be that it's another model very similar to mine.

Hi ,Yes your design is beautiful , may be near to the real F-47 shape.
 
Talking to UX-24 members, an advanced delivery prototype closely resembling the aircraft on this patch was delivered to the U.S. Navy, and they've been working with it. No word on when it was delivered or why it's with an unmanned squadron.

NG has a very good chance of being selected in August. B-21 is going very well with the "NG Flying Wing Experts". And I do believe NG has and had been working very closely with the USN regarding F/A-XX (hence dropping out of USAF NGAD), this would be the other NG arm of NG which are the "NG Air Dominance Experts". NG executive management is not stupid and they run a very good corp. I saw first hand the innovations at Northrop/NG during my time there and the programs I worked. I do believe any program which started with and goes through the Rapid Capabilities Office has a real chance of being successful, Industry and USG with a Skunk Works-type mentality.

Nothing is perfect but I think industry and the USG have learned from previous failed programs (hopefully) and they have to, lots of tension and threats in the world currently along the US/Iran conflict and the rise of China.

USN has been running one or more programs out of TTR and Groom for the past few years. Could be related, or not

Looking at the dots and lines on the fuselage, I think they might represent antennas and cables related to electronic warfare. It could possibly be a naval version of the PEA program.
 
The wolf on the patch also screams "Growler II". Wasn't it mentioned that there won't be a dedicated ECM version because the base aircraft will already be extremely capable with regards to electronic warfare? To a point where a dedicated version would be redundant?

If I remember correctly, then this patch would make sense, given that it will also replace the E/A-18G
 
That would make sense Emobirb replacing the current E/A-18 with an EW variant of the F/A-XX would be good as the standard F/A-18E/Fs are being replaced with the F/A-XX too.

No EW variant. F/A-XX will most likely posess similar or superior ECM capabilities than the E/A-18G as a baseline.

Which is why I theorized it being "Growler II" rather than "Tomcat II". Furthermore UX-24 are called the Ghost Wolves.

Pretty much. And that's not surprising. That next step already arrived with aircraft like the F-35 within the USN. After all the F-35C can do it all, there's no need for an E/F-35 or F/A-35, because the base aircraft already incorporated these aspects from the beginning. Same with F/A-XX which will unify strike, ECM and air warfare in one airframe. There will be unmanned systems complementing it (remember UX-24 tests unmanned systems) but the manned aircraft itself will posesses formidable capabilities in the strike and electronic warfare domains.

There is conflicting information regarding the F/A-XX replacing the growler or CCAs under the greater NGAD FoS doing the job.

No, it is a strike fighter and “quarterback” battle manager. The Navy has been clear on this.

There is no EF-18 “replacement”. That role is basically going away because EW is changing. Each service has an “ew flight plan” and there is a joint EW “flight plan”.
 
So in the end the EW role is going to be gone once the Growler is retired whenever that will be to be.

there are things the f-35C can do better but there are things the f-35C cannot do, and will never come close to doing unless you start hanging big pods in relation to the growler. at certain frequencies of electronic warfare, you're talking about the physical attribute of the antenna array that the f-35 does not possess.
 
I had read somewhere years ago that the F-35s radar is powerfull enough that it can jam SAM radars without the need for external pods which would compromise it's stealthiness in the EW role.
