UH-60 Black Hawk Developments

Hey folks, this article and video sponsored by Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky were published on TWZ today.
Sikorsky’s “Black Hawk 2070” modernization plan aims to keep the UH-60 Black Hawk relevant until at least 2070 through a new digital architecture, more powerful T901 engines, larger fuel tanks, a modular sensor nose, and the integration of drone-launching capabilities.

A key element of the strategy is increased autonomy through the MATRIX system, enabling optionally piloted operations and supporting the new U-Hawk, an unmanned cargo variant that Sikorsky plans to fly for the first time later this year.

Together, these upgrades are intended to transform the Black Hawk into a highly connected, drone-controlling battlefield platform with greater range, payload capacity, and survivability, while preserving its proven utility for both combat and humanitarian missions.

Went from looking like a catfish to looking like a platypus.

The real test will be how well the transmission (that they did not mention getting upgraded) handles the increase in weight.
