The potential effect of Artificial Intelligence on civilisation - a serious discussion

As someone who just started a new job, I think it would be awesome if my employer had its own "small language model" that I could ask questions of rather than having to ask my supervisor. That would mean less need to train new workers, lower requirements for education and experience, and faster hiring.

My manager, who's an AI enthusiast, talks about something like that. He'd like to get an LLM that only looks at the documents on the intranet to make researching uncommon tasks easy.

I wonder what will happen to fertility rates if robot nannies can handle all the unpleasant parts of raising kids

Hmm ...

One of my 'favorite' parts of the image is the couple of locomotives which have smoke/steam having origin points other than stack or safety valves, such as the sand dome here.
And then there are strange and wonky rails all over the place.
And then there is ... and then ... and then ...

Seriously, if you are going to fraudulently present something via AI imagery, at least pay enough attention to refrain from presenting it with BAD AI.

Well, while I'm dissing the use of AI images ...
Why does it have spikes atop engine cowls behind propellors; why are the propellor blades wavy; and how did the vertical stabilizer get bent and twisted if the thing is way up there on the pole?

The pole-flyer Western Airlines DC-6 at the busy parking lot of the Riviera (Las Vegas), July 1957. The airline had a ticket office there from 1955-61.

Two-tone Buick, Dodge and Plymouth cars. There was still some class at that “fertile plain” it was Las Vegas.
