What are the most important issues we have now in space exploration area? As we can see now space explorations are developing very rapidly and by doing this, it causes a lot of issues to solve. Humans have a lot of stuff to figure out to get closer to particular purpose and which one do you consider is the most important and must be solved the first?
 
Long term space radiation mitigation.

Wanna stay on the moon ? Need to handle Radiation
Wanna stay on the Mars ? again, space Radiation.
Wanna visit Asteroid ? Radiation.

We were lucky on Earth with protection from Magnetosphere and our Atmosphere. swaying away killer electrons and such.

Mars = Politics/Money
Elsewhere = Politics/Money

Anything else? Ah yes....radiations.
 
A sustainable economic model. Hence securing long term profitability is paramount to space development.

Companies won't go to space if their business model is not sustainable. State's organizations and nations have to come forward with their legal model as they can forsee it today.
Sapce is not new and public endeavor was the leading model in it. There should be enough experience to come around with a legal plan workable on the long term.

I wish most space nations would have come now with their plans made public
 
Mars and the Moon have plenty enough very large caves to protect colonies from radiations. And begnin thermal and dust environments.

The neat thing with Mars and Moon caves is that the gravity is 1/3rd and 1/6th of Earth, respectively and thus caves can grow to truly enormous size without collapsing.

On the Moon, very serious calculations have shown caves as large as 2 miles could exist; the weak gravitational pull would allow it at least.
 
With regards as to politics and economics, the UN Space Treaty has quite arguably been long a huge obstacle to economic development beyond Earth orbit; if governments and corporations can't secure & protect their investments they generally as a rule will not make those investments in the first place.

That's half of the problem... as the space ship needs to be shielded too. Moon.. maybe can get there fast.. But Mars, it's about 9 months of Journey. Would need some form of new technology e.g super heavy launchers or material. Otherwise orbital construction would be a must.
 
I consider the important issue to be solved conserning space, it is to solve space junk issue. Actually, it's not dangerous for humans on Earth but as I have already mentioned it's rather dangerous for spacecraft and for space companies who's spacecraft can collide and be damaged by space junk and whole mission can be under threat.
 
We are already close to ‘Kessler syndrome’, which represents a state where the object density is so high that one collision is enough to generate a cascade effect, leading to further collisions.
 
Paradoxally, this could help the increase in space business opportunities in world organizations would come around a taxing sheme that would benefit space debris removal and scavenger that could make a business re-saling harvested components (electronics, mechanical, solar arrays and sensors) directly into space. The benefits for the buyer would come around a reduced mass at launch, hence better profits.

I found out that some space company is going to make so called cleaning mission that is about to clean Earth`s orbit from space junk. The Clearspace-1 satellite, or ‘The Claw’, represents the first step towards a clean space environment by being the first space debris removal dedicated mission.
