tejas trainer/ naval variant

Nice one! I was beginning to wonder what had become of the project ;)

looks like a tidy little design....the Tejas when flying from a carrier will have what sort of range - fitted out for AA mission or AS mission?

combat radius at max load , 250-300km thereabouts (this is 350-400 for the IAF version)
40 minute flight profile .

drop tanks can increase this by another 40-50 minutes

the figures I am giving are for the K10+ Kaveri which hopefully will yield more than 90KN in re heat

Its funny how the cooperation with different foreign manufacturers affects the overall design. First Dassault-like concept, now moveable LERX from FGFA/PAK FA...

Well, that is confirmation that most national governmental projects across the globe get screwed by politics. Perhaps it will change some day but I won't be holding my breath.

Hah! Hah!
Was it Klauswitz (sp/) who said that "War is politics by other means?"

Certainly Canadian defense spending always puts the poor bloody infantry priority-last while politicians search for other ways to spend tax dollars in ways that will buy the most votes.
