Sukhoi S-51

Type: Mid-size long-range supersonic transport.

Program:
Projected date of prototype completion was 2005 with service entry in 2010.

Design features: Rear-mounted sweptback low wings, with very long curved root extensions, carrying engine ducts on wide rearward extension of inboard semi-span; sweptback foreplanes; small diameter, long fuselage, with flush windscreen in conical nose; swept vertical tail services. Intended to fly non-stop from Moscow to any airport in Europe or Asian continent, or one stop to any world capital; range similar when flying supersonic or high subsonic, permitting operation over highly populated areas.

Power plant: Four R-51 turbojets; each rated at 93.17 kN (20,945 lb st)

Accommodation: Crew of two; from 50 to 68 passengers.

Systems: Based on experience with Sukhoi S-21 aircraft.

Overall planform looks a lot like the Gulfstream-Sukhoi SSBJ, just this one is bigger.

Sukhoi S-51 sales leaflet ...
only 64 pax in economy configuration? edit: and 12+40 in 2-class, looks like ~20 in first class (or 14+6 helpers?)

Gotta admit that I do like the all first-class layout. Looks more like a nice train lounge car or business jet than a commercial airliner.

Third 3-view is late 90s TsAGI-Sukhoi MSDS study, not S-51. Apparently based on one of S-21 iterations.
