Many projects or concepts are very short lived. Often they were
shown as models or mock-ups to an astonished public on airshows,
like Farnborough or Le Bourget, just to be forgotten some time
later. Just as an example, I’ve attached a photo of the SNCAC
800, a very nice looking, fighter like shaped small transport for
four passengers. This photo was shown on the aeroforum last
year. My question : As photo cameras were standard equipment
long before the war, collections of photos from airshows probably
exist and should be a phantastic source for now unknown projects,
if they don’t show only the flying hardware outside the halls .
The only problem, where to find such collections ? Maybe there
even were official photographers, taking photos of every stand
in the halls ? Who knows a site, showing the exhibits of the
Aerosalon Paris all the years ? Were there illustrated catalogues ?
If so, where to get them ??

I would try asking on photo sites like http://www.fencecheck.com, http://www.airliners.net etc

Mockup displayed at the 1946 Paris Airshow. Sorry that the quality is not better.

Illustration NC 800_001 from The Aeroplane Spotter December 14th 1946.

Text block NC 800_002 from Flight November 21st 1946.

Regards Bailey.
