I didn't really like the poll choices, but voted for "libtards" because it's the best fit for my position. Killing the F-22 would have made sense in 1991 or 1992. We saw F-15's kicking butt in Operation Desert Storm, the iron curtain was collapsing, and the need for F-22 wasn't compelling enough to justify the billions that would be spent on development. But all those development dollars have been sunk by now, and buying added airframes would be a pretty good value (while we're still sinking development dollars into the less-capable F-35A.) So the Senate vote is another case of being penny-wise and pound-foolish.
