Remind me the tremendous projects of Myasichtev (this name is a pain in the ass to write correctly!) the M-56/ 58/59 (Fana de l'Aviation march/ april 2003). 4800 km/h, 16000 km range, and the like

Мясищев - not very complicated if you can read and write Russian ;) (for English speakers: Mya-sish-chev).

ALWAYS USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION, BEFORE CREATING A NEW THREAD ! ;)
(This was a narrow escape ...)

The first one (the delta) is more strange than the second, and far more interesting, i'm puzzled about it aerodynamics, the nose, and the flatted shape near the intakes seem works as flow deflectors, maybe to get lift due the compresion?, you can see a similar shape on the F-22, any more data about it?

Is me? or the 60's-50's sharped wing/tail-tips for these high speed aircraft are used no more?, was it more draggy? and why that design was widely used on many projects?
