A much reproduced painting of the RAF F111K from General Dynamics (it heads up the Wikipedia entry) shows the plane in a non-standard green and brown camouflage pattern.
I had always put this down to artistic licence but then I found a similar colour scheme on the cover of the 1970 RAF Souvenir book. A model of the MRCA (it looks more like UKFVG) is shown in the same scheme.
Was this scheme mooted as an East of Suez colour scheme or something similar?

Sure looks like a pre-emptive reiteration of the good ol' - 'sand & spinach' RAF scheme..

USAF 'jungle' camo includes several colours in a pattern distinctly different from the RAF type, though..

I always put that UKVG scheme down to the artist just having watched "Battle of Britain".

But UKVG's too early.

I may have hit upon a possible source for this scheme.

The Army painted its helicopters, Austers and Beavers in a similar scheme:

I also have some playing cards at home from 1964 which show drawings of aircraft taken from Flight Internationals aircraft of the world and coloured in. The impression of the 1154 is coloured in this green and brown scheme.

Maybe someone in the MOD decided to resurrect the old Army Cooperation scheme.

I also recall Marx Toys reissuing its TSR2 toy in this scheme in the late 60s, but have not found a picture yet.

Finally found the Pepys Planes card game with a drawing of the Hawker 1154 in the same camo scheme.

Thanks for posting pics of the Marx. Marx got a lot of use out of the moulding even after thr real plane had gone.
I am fascinated by the artwork for 1154, F111 and MRCA in this scheme in the 60s. Could it have been a scheme envisaged to replace the green grey gloss over white camo before the wraparound greengrey was chosen?

A bit OT., here is the Clifford 32 scale toy Harrier in what equates to the green & light stone camouflage used by RN. Wessex helicopters
