Was the av-42 a jet engine project?

Indeed, but it was a post-war project !

An alternative to the more expensive Link trainer flight simulator.
In the early days of aviation, aircraft with clipped wings were used to familiarise aspiring pilots with aircraft without leaving the ground.
Such a device was known as a pingouin in France, but they fell out of use. Charles Fauvel thought there was a market for something similar, even considering variants on floats, skis or as a fairground attraction. That might have been fun, with the device leaning into corners. Power was to be supplied by a small motorcycle engine, or, possibly, an electric motor.
