That was the original design of Jim Millers "Pushy Cat". It did not work well and the ducted fan arrangement was abandoned and replaced by a tee tail.

Thank you very much for that extraordinary contribution-gift from Grumman, after decades of searching for it fruitlessly today it comes to me...!! Now hands on the "Mouse" to join and fill in areas damaged during the scan.
Thank you very much Justo Miranda for the contribution. Motocar

Repost Cutaway Grumman F8F Bearcat "Greenamyer" US Navy aircraft, one of many sold as World War II surplus, modified to compete in the Reno Air Races. In 1969, it broke the 30-year-old speed record for a piston-powered aircraft set by the Messerschmitt Me-209 in 1939. This famous aircraft was heavily modified, with all military equipment, weapons, and armor removed. Its wings were cropped and its engine was overpowered. Its cockpit was changed twice and fitted with a very small, aerodynamic bubble. Its fins increased surface area and height, and a large propeller hub was added. It also included wide fairings on the wing roots and a short extension behind the tail, both to further improve aerodynamics. It set a speed record of 776.449 km/h which was in force until it was beaten in 1979 by a Mustang with a highly modified Rolls-Royce Griffon engine, as well as other aerodynamic features, author Aviagraphica and modified or intervened by Motocar

Darryl Greenamyer did great things in the world of high performance aircraft. It is sad that he had to eject from his special F-104 before he could go for the altitude record.

Cutaway Republic YRF-84F Thunderstreak. Project parasite hunting defenza heavy bombers Convair B -36 , this was the prototype of the fighter that was used to test the concept , a previous project failure with minimal hunting McDonnell XF-85 Goblin , it does not meet expectations after only a few hours of test flights, is thought to use a complete fighter that served to defend the B -36 enemy fighters , this prosperous reconnaissance plane given as FICON called the set and went into operation with hunting Republic RF -84 equipped with a hook , only served for two years before being discarded the concept. Modification in free interpretation by Motocar

Repost Cutaway Republic YRF-84F, the prototype parasite fighter built for the Convair B-36, this used a trapeze to release and recover the fighter and face enemy interceptors and thus guarantee the mission, as with the McDonnell XF-85 its tests came to nothing, but what did become operational were the FICON versions in which an RF-84 was released to perform photoreconnaissance missions after released from the B-36 and later recovered, although it seems incredible this combination entered into operation and lasted a year between 1955/56 until they were definitively canceled. The schematic cut already shared more than a decade ago now does so in a revision with higher quality thanks to the material available now. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when making the modifications to recreate it. Motocar

I believe those cutaways show the YF-84F - without the 'R'.
Both photographs in the second cutaway show YF-84F prototype 49-2430.
The colour photo in the second cutaway shows 49-2430 after the FICON modifications.
The black and white photo shows it before the FICON modifications.

The YRF-84F pre-production prototype 51-1828 had wing root inlets.

Twenty-five RF-84F Thunderflash photo-reconaissance aircraft were modified to RF-84K FICON aircraft - c/n 52-7254 through 52-7278.

Thanks for the note, reviewing I observe that your observation is valid, the RF-84 was a much larger aircraft while the YF-84 was a swept-wing modification of the basic F-84 that retained the original fuselage with only changes, beyond the wings and swept tail, I will correct to change its identification. Un dibujo realmente bonito, ¿añadiste algo más a la actualización de Tim sobre el original de Frank Munger?

I only closed the cockpit; in the original drawing, it's open with the sliding canopy moved back.

I don't have Frank Munger's original drawing, but it should have been his interpretation of the Sea Harrier FSR.1. Here's the Aviagraphica drawing I found online, which I slightly retouched to clean it up and realign it.

Flight control runs are shown with hidden lines in the lateral cutaway. Here is an inboard view with the runs if needed.

I owe them the completion of this retouching of the Grumman J2F-5 "Duck", the work is progressing but I have had setbacks, the scales between both parts were not the same, the central areas were curved making the work even more difficult, I adjusted the sizes, realigned the lines and used the other cut provided Grumman FF-1 as a guide to replace those areas lost during the scanning process. I'll spend more time finishing it soon. Greetings Motocar

Greetings, at this moment I am working on a revision of an old schematic cut that I published more than a decade ago, The Dassault MD-550/Mirage I, the revision is deep thanks to new data and tools available z perhaps it is now more faithful to the original and ambitious design of the Dassault firm, among the data recently discovered by me was that it would be armed with a radar-guided air missile but from ground, the interceptor would function as an airborne platform to carry by vectoring to the ideal firing position, the problem was that being a tiny fighter it could only carry one missile, this solution of the French Air Force explains other radar-free interceptors such as the Leduc 022, the Trident and other proposals. It will take me a little longer to have it ready, I just tell you to create expectations.
