Hadn't seen this topic before. Love this design, very similar to the Sukhoi S-80. Same program?

nope. 110 was a SOFA aircraft envisioned in late 80s with quite predictable future after USSR fallout
attempts to offer it for market as transport -> failure -> part of design team moves to Sukhoi -> Su-80 -> falure
btw, when Rutan's ATTT pics did appear in media? 1987?

Thanks for the information regarding the connection between the Mikoyan MiG-110 and the Sukhoi Su-80.

The ATTT was announced in the latter part of 1987, and shown in photo for its first flight in January 1988.

Product 101N, one of 'Samolyot Osobogo Perioda = Special Period Aircraft'* truly multipurpose projects family was a far predecessor of MiG-110 with lateral branch as SVB (Samolyot Vysotnogo Bazirovaniya = Aircraft of High-altitude Basing)

hope this makes family tree more clearer

*(i.e. easily, cheaply produced from readily accessible raw materials at any factory survived by unqualified workforce after nuclear fallout)

The drawing in #4 suggests, that compact parking was an important design point. More than one aircraft
could so be parked in a hangar, that otherwise maybe couldn't even take a single aircraft. An advantage
in areas with harsh climatic conditions. But maybe the Russian text gives some indication ?

Plus all that mention of the possibility of compact arrangement in the hangar aircraft carriers .

That's surprising to me ! Was it intended then as a COD aircraft ? Would seem strange to me, that
more than one would have to be parked under the flight deck. Or were other versions like AEW or
ASW envisaged ?

As well as being a COD aircraft, they may have also intended for a carrier based version to double as a transport for naval infantry & Spetsnaz units. (C-2s have on occasion been used in a comparable role).

Would mean to drop those soldiers by parchute, wouldn't it ? Hardly the way today
to bring a small combat unit to its target, I think.

Secondo la wikipedia russa, l'interesse di MiG per questo velivolo è crollato e alcuni pianificatori e designer si sono trasferiti all'ufficio Sukhoi, creando così il Sukhoi Su-80. È possibile?

Not unless it's in English, various translators are available online.

This is amateur what-if.

Welcome aboard Flanker78,

please speak by English language,and maybe you are right;

(According to the Russian wikipedia, MiG's interest in this aircraft collapsed and some planners and designers moved to the Sukhoi office, thus creating the Sukhoi Su-80. It's possible?)
