There is a sudden swarm of cars at the North Korean embassy in Beijing. Then Chinese bloggers started saying Kim Jong Un was killed....

I wouldn't bet much on this being accurate. There's quite a history of such horrific execution stories from North Korea and they often prove to be complete bunk. For example, note that this article has a link to another Telegrpah story about a lover of Kim-Jong Un being executed. It dosen't include a link to the later story (on the same site) showing that she appeared on television alive and well some time after her supposed "execution."

I can think of reasons for such a setup that don't involve gruesome executions. For example, a firepower demonstration with mannequins as targets, possibly dressed up to represent US and ROK armed forces.

Theres actually some footage of that one from a few years ago.
I like the top left pic in 4/4,you can see the soldier armed with the dprks version of the K-11,a modified ak74 [type 88] fitted with an integral 20mm bolt action grenade launcher
 
Kim opens a new war museum & memorial,The Memorial Museum of Combat Feats at Overseas Military Operations,dedicated to those who fought [and died] in the war in the ukraine.

If somebody had said ten years ago that kim would be showing off his new collection of captured western military hardware,including an abrams,a leopard 2,a bradley & a marder,people would`ve laughed their arses off.
