Major incident at RAF Fairford - NEWS ONLY !!!!!

I have it on Mr. T's authority the image is AI-generated. Is there a non-AI-generated image of the van? I only found the top view BBC-image of the three vans. Anyone tried calling the phone-number on the back? Is this some misguided Fuel 2 you ad campaign? The only link I found gets me an offer for rental golf carts. In Florida.

Is that you, Marco Rubio?

Today's news from Wiltshire:

Zia Yusuf mocked after RAF Fairford ‘national emergency’ demand
In a social media post this morning (Tuesday), Reform UK said: “Zia Yusuf calls for a national security emergency to be declared at RAF Fairford.”
[...]
two separate military sources claimed the men were thieves attempting to siphon fuel.

The sources said barrels and other equipment associated with stealing fuel were discovered in the three vans, which were reportedly positioned close to a diesel supply.

Have there been any reports of the vans being moved yet or looked at by anything other than the ROV?

Aside from happening near an air base, not seeing any connection to the forum here?
It’s odd though as the authorities were clearly expecting something to happen at the air base. As ever with these things maybe in the fullness of time things will become clearer.

What are the chances of there being a surveillance operation as trump has said but it has been blown by diesel thieves?

If they are thieves you could almost feel sorry for them. They'd travelled all that way to steal a little red diesel, only to find armed police kneeling on their necks.

Assuming that they're petrol/diesel thieves what are the odds they'll have the book thrown at them?

The Times reports that the suspected bomb attack on RAF Fairford was foiled by one of the suspects who called 999 himself

Detectives are investigating the motivation for doing so, whether he got cold feet or whether it was part of the plan to test the response

Sources tell The Times that the RAF Fairford suspects are not being investigated for fuel theft

The investigation is focused on whether the group were acting as proxies for Iran, conducting surveillance, testing security in a “dry run” or sending a message to the Government

So what about the farmer who reported the three vans and the running men in balaclavas?

She first called the airbase, but nobody answered. Then she called 999. Must have been a busy night for the emergency services.

Latest news I saw ( here in Canada ) reported that the 5 suspects are already out on bail.

Actually she called the MOD police rather than the base. Only MOD police number is in central London.
