So are bald eagles, which are what shown. I don't know where one could see chickens there.

As a German myself, I think I now found the root cause for the perception about a lack of humor in Germans.

It's an old joke in my country: to the amazement of the passengers, the blind pilot walks down the aisle of the plane guided by his dog, enters the cockpit, leaving the door open, starts the engines and starts taxiing down the runway... roll... roll... roll…and when all the passengers scream in terror he says NOW! and pull back the control stick to take off.
