jet fighter-submarine

I wondered if you or any of the members have any knowledge of an American project of that time to create a jet fighter which could also maneuver as a submarine. I seem to recall Lockheed and General Dynamics formerly Convair had such proposals under development but presumably the technical challenge was too much or more likely to prospect of funding diminished
