I can't read Japan, but maybe this aircraft is Ki 102-Hei? That is a high-altitude version of Ki 102, with longer fuselage and wings (length 13.050 m, wingspan 17.250 m, wing area 40 m2 - instead of 11.450 m, 15.570 m and 34 m2 of "normal" Ki 102), new pressurized cockpit, armed with two 30-mm and two 20-mm cannons. Its service ceiling is 13 000 m, and maximum speed is 600 km/h at 10 000 m altitude.

The source is a book which cover is in attachment.

Yes.

Thanks gral_rj! I already convinced in it after reading Justo's posts. And it seems that Ki 102-Hei has a little in common with the main Ki 102 - much less than Ki 96 and Ki 108 have...

hello guys I was wondering, has the Kawasaki Ki102 hei a interceptor radar?
If so what for type radar ,It seems a parabolic type antennae because I didn't see a Me110 type
radar antennae.Ill hope some one has some info/drawings of this radar
Further I must say this aircraft bore some striking resambles to the Aichi SA1 Denkoh

This is great guys! Thanks a lot. Are there any drawings or 3-views available an the Saiun-Kai’s, Ryusei Kai and Mokusei? ;D

about nakajima ki-49 III , is written in cech language ,but i have understood that ki-49 III was developed by Ki-49 IIb

Given the similarities, you have to wonder if they shared the same radar fit.

Hello!
A translation of the Czech text:
Because the Nakajima Ki 49-IIb heavy bomber was underpowered, the company decided to mount much more powerful engines on it - they were 18-cylinder, twin-row Nakajima Ha 117 radials. During prototype tests, one but fatal thing became clear - the engines are very unreliable and underdeveloped for the mass production. So, the program was closed.

Time: late 1943
Built: 6
Crew: 8
Powerplant: two Nakajima Ha-117 radial engines, 2420 hp each
Takeoff weight: 13 500 kg
Wingspan: 20.42 m
Length: 16.50 m
Height: 4.25 m
Maximum speed: 540 km/h
Rate climb: 10 min 30 s to 5000 m
Service ceiling: 8500 m
Range: 3500 km with 500 kg bomb load

Armament:
1x Ho-1 20-mm cannon (dorsal turret),
3x Ho-103 12.7-mm machine guns (nose, ventral, and tail turrets),
2x Type 89 7.7-mm machine guns (firing through side windows).

There, I made it!

I have decided to draw my own version of the C6N2-S Model 12 Saiun-Kai. How does it look?

Cheers
Gerhard

Oh it's obviously Saiun night fighter!!
Beautiful and sharp.
Many members of this forum can use CAD soft!!

Hey, Guys

Some sources refer to this version as the C6N3 Saiun-KAI-1. Any thoughts on this?

Gerhard

borovik,

Interesting that the tail fin of the Ki-102c is different from both the Ki-96 prototypes and the Ki-102a & b. It looks like one Ki-108 has the Ki-102c tail as well.

Kawasaki represented by Takeo Doi to accelerate the work and savings on new prototypes, using elements from his other aircraft ...
Fairness (just noticed) it should be noted that in the scheme above, mixed in places Ki-108 and Ki-108 KAI
/IMHO/

Hi Guys

I found this information on C6N sub-types in a recent book purchase.
Please could one of our Japanese speaking members translate the section on the different models?

Many thanx
Gerhard

C6N1-S:Night fighter, begun to operation in Nobember 1944. There were two types for C6N1-S.(With two 20mm slanting cannon type and with one 30mm slanting cannon type)
C6N1(C6T):Experimental modified Saiun(彩雲改).Improved high altitude performance type. Engine was HOMARE(誉)(NK9L-L) with Hitachi (日立)92 type turbo super charger(LU212).Completed in February 1945.But super charger did not work well until the end of the war. ;D
Expected max speed was 639km/h(345kt),Service ceiling was 12,500m, Rang was 2,400km(1,300n.m.)
C6N3:High altitude two seat night fighter. C6N1 with slanting two 20mm cannon.Only paper plan.
C6N4:Improved high altitude performance type.Engine was Mitsubishi(三菱) HA43-11 Type LU(MK9A-L) with Hitachi 10 type turbo super charger, take off power was 2,200hp. C6N4 had been developping until the end of the war.
C6N1-B(or called C6N5):Carrier base attack bomber.
C6N6:All wooden structure type.
Total 463 Saiun were made and 173 were survived when the end of the war.
There was a plan for Saiun successor, which was Nakajima 19-shi carrier base reconnaissance aircraft.

Hi! C6T Saiun-kai.
You can see the intercooler (中間冷却器) at the last picture.
May be Nakajima Ki-84Ⅲ turbocharged Hayate fighter had such a turbo charging system.

Very good drawings as usual. I want to see your speculation about Nakajima Ki-84Ⅲ turbo Hayate fighter.

Many thanks Justo-san!! You are very quick artist.
Ki-117 was a Hayate with powerful Ha-44((Ha-219, take off power : 2,400hp) engine without turbocharger) and extended main wing.
Ki-117 planned to begin production in October 1945.
Span : 12.3m, Length : 10.177m, Wing area : 22.3 square meter, Aspect ratio : 6.8, Empty weight : 3,540kg, Gross weight : 4,797kg, Maximum speed : 670km/h/5,820m,610km/h/1,570m, Range : 1577km/350km/h/4,010m, two 20mm cannon.
Engine : Nakajima Ha44-14 (with single stage two speed mechanical supercharger), First speed : 2,380hp/2,800rpm/1,570m, Second speed : 2,160hp/2,800rpm/5,820m, Take off power : 2,530hp/2,800prm, Engine diameter : 1.286m, Reduction ration : 0.431, Dry weight : 1,314kg, Propeller diameter : 3.6m,
