That is a big radar in the tail! looks like the same size as the nose radar.

No, missiles such as PL-15 need support from the fighter radar until they're within a few km of the target.
The fighter pilot doesn't want to move towards the target after launching the missiles, it would fly towards enemy missiles.
He wants to fly away and thus wants a big tail radar if no wingman takes over providing midcourse data to the missile.

Moreover, two rotating AESA antennas can provide a full spherical coverage. This helps greatly with detecting threats (incl. missiles) and targets.

Modern missiles now use Ka/Ku band radars. Fighter radars use x band, so the fighter radar could rather not jam the missile's onboard radar.

Well, to my knowledge nobody ever claimed that a tiny PL-15 missile radar of 20 cm diameter can find and track a 1 sq m rcs fighter target at 100+ km distance.

Feel free to be the first and only one who does!

I think you severely underestimate the autonomy of modern fire and forget missiles with active seekers.

Active radar homing AAM still need what's called as Mid Course Update, especially if you lob them far say in excess of 100 Km. The seeker will only Lights up at certain distances (called A-Pole) Maybe something like 20 km from target position.

This target position have to be supplied and updated from the launch platform. Thus why people usually want large radar for their fighters.. good for volume search and also good to provide Mid Course update to the BVR missile.
