I'm speculating that the nose was designed for/equipped with the HIAC-1 LOROP long-range camera as later also fitted to the F-4E(S). can anyone confirm?

Does anybody know what RWR system was used in this photo recce Kfir? A small black RWR dome antenna is visible under the nose. Was that Elisra EL/L-8303?

If memory serves, they used the SPS-200 RWR

As the prequel to the IDF/F-CK-1 Ching-Kuo saga, after refusing to export the FX project fighters (F-16/79 and F-20) to Taiwan, the US proposed to be the middleman for selling the Kfir as replacement for ROCAF F-104G. It's almost certainly not the same as the "early-1990s" attempted deal mentioned in Wikipedia; that one was also doomed from the start as the F-CK-1 was entering service at that timeframe as well, and halfway through Ching-Kuo's development the ROCAF already no longer wanted any more to do with the J79 turbojet......

The post-FX proposal serves to encourage the ROCAF and AIDC to go all-in with the IDF project instead (fighting Sparrow-armed PLAAF F-16A with AIM-9P4 and "Git Gud, Scrubs"? Nah~), so not much thought was given to how the notional ROCAF Kfir would look like. It almost certainly would have shared AIM-9P4 missile with the F-5E though.
