Some time ago I have seen in an Italian book with assault aircraft a picture, further no information, of a Ro.57 or Ro.57 bis with four guns.
I can remember that it has the normal two 12,7mm machine guns on the nose, but also under the nose two 20mm guns.
Who has more information, was this only a prototype or a small batch, pictures etc.?
Was it a Ro.57 or an Ro.57bis.
I cannot remember the book.

Hello!

In the old, although very comprehensive, book "Italian Civil and Military Aircraft" by J.Thompson dive-bomber version of Ro.57 - "bis" has been mentioned , as equipped with additional 2x20 mm cannons.
Is it what you looking for?

Hai
Thanks for the information and this is what I expected, that it was the Ro.57bis.
I am looking for more details/pictures etc. concerning how and the exact place of the 20mm guns.
How many of this version where build?

Jan

There is an article http://www.airwar.ru/enc/fww2/ro57.html here (on Russian) with Ro-57bis 3-view (source unknown), which didn't feats in any photos of Ro-57bis I already seen.
As well - article on Italian http://www.giemmesesto.org/Documentazione/Aerei/ImamRo57.html.

Unfortunately - I don't see additional cannons anywhere in these sources...

That drawing is new for me, it shows the position of the 20mm guns.
Just what you mention on both sites no pictures of the Ro.57 with these guns.
I hope some one else have something.
Thanks for your help

Does anyone have information as to just which 20mm cannon were used?

Ah, thank you. That will help in modifying my Special Hobby kit to add those.
