That diagrom flies in the face of conventional engineering practice.
OTOH most airplanes locate fuel tanks near the center-of-gravity/wings (see Chance Vought F4U Corsair) to reduce the risk of unbalance if one fuel tank fails to feed correctly.

Also the weight of the two engine not in the same line can cause problems. Also them not being in the same location ( length-wise) Would have been an interesting experience if something went wrong.
