Very interesting! Is it me, or is this design reminiscent of the Grumman Panther/Cougar in some way?
I guess it's the side view that gives me that impression, the rest has nothing to do with it !

I know, but the P.T. boat was apparently pitched as an alternative option (for Special Operations support and the like, I wonder?).
